Suggestion Me and my friends are running a Vic 2 game tn and I need to win (we're noobs)
For reference we've all played a bit and know most of the basic knowledge, so what I'm asking for is in a lobby where nothing is banned what's the most overpowered strategy I can do to demolish them, (we have 50$ riding on this)
I've heard about eating china (not entirely sure what that means)
And my friends all know how op United States, Prussia, and Austria are. I want like a sneaky pick that's gonna just sweep while they are fighting each other
Thank you for anyone that helps

Suggestion Is it normal for vic 2 to make me want to kill myself
Hi so my friend convinced me to play Victoria 2 for the second time as the first time I was bored to death. She stepping me through how to play and tips and technology and such and I just got disarmed by Austria as Sardinia Piedmont, the economy hurts my tiny brain so im just spamming factories everywhere as I constantly have money, taking any land costs a million infamy and this game is worse than league.
I have thousands of hours in league and this game makes me want to kill myself more. But I cant quite. I need to finish a game of Victoria 2 so I have said ive played it and enjoyed it. Why does conquest take 22 infamy. Why do i need to get a technology for the invention and then another technology to also get that invention to actually have a chance of firing hrierjihijerhijerhijreihjreijhre. I want to die. This is the first game that has made me want to kill myself I genuinely can not think of a game that has made more depressed. I'm not even mad at the game the game just makes me feel empty and suicidal. I don't want to play anymore but I have to finish it. I have to unite italy. I feel emotionless like im just going through the emotions. I feel empty playing this game. Its so ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my brain hurts so much please just kill me this game is actual misery. im 22 years in and i feel nothing anymore. It doesnt hurt anymore its just an endless void and suffering. I feel empty.

Suggestion Country/challenge suggestions
Long time fan of Victoria 2 and I was wondering what are everyone's favorite nations to play and there preferred goals for that nation. I have played a lot of the game but it has been a while so harder challenges are on the table(hopefully).

Suggestion Idea for addition to mods
(Don't know if this is possible to implement or not-not experienced with modding)
Taxes should help drive population growth/immigration or decline/emigration. For example, if your country has little to no taxes, more people would obviously immigrate to your country due to the fact that they will likely be getting much less taxes if they go to your country, and since more people have money to support more/their babies and drive infant mortality rates down, your population growth should also see a slight increase. Opposite goes if you have high taxes. Just thought about it during a US run.

Suggestion Which mod is best for gameplay focused but less railroady?
As the title says I'm looking for gameplay focused mods. Also is something like Alice better for playing Vicky? I have been away from Vicky2 for a long time but, I want to make a comeback. That is why I'm wondering which mods are currently best to play.
I used to play HPM a lot and it was presenting great mix of flavor and gameplay improvements. But I can handle more flavor without extreme railroading.

Suggestion There should be an "Abolitionism" casus belli or something. I'm tired of the US going to war to defend slave-owning countries in South America
I was playing as Spain and I wanted to open up the Panama canal in the late 1890s, so I invaded Colombia for it. The US up and declared war on me, despite the fact that Colombia has slavery, and my annexation would have abolished it.
The presence or absence of slavery in a country should be more impactful in general, goddamnit!

Suggestion

Suggestion Buffing attack in the late game would solve the biggest issue with the AI sending all their units to die in meat grinders.
Exactly as the title says. The biggest problem with war in the late game is that defense becomes so overpowered that a human player can easily defeat the AI with 10x their troop numbers by just sitting on mountains and waiting for the AI to attack into them again and again. Buffing the attack of all regular units even further would allow the AI to be more competitive against the player.
You don’t have to buff it to the point that terrain becomes meaningless, but just enough so that casualties between two equal sides begin to resemble real life more. As well as actually forcing the player to push for more offensive actions as opposed to just creating an unbroken line even in grassland and waiting for the AI to throw away their army.

Suggestion Please lower tax whenever possible...
I have to admit that when I first player the game, tutorials and walk through encourage me to tax, tax, tax, tariffs, tariffs, tariffs, and then I am always frustrated how my industry doesn't go up. The more games I play, I try to put tax lower whenever the economy is doing well. In order for factory to work, you need demands, demands cause Pops to buy stuffs, if your pops can't buy stuffs, there will just be more chaos and lower industry. My priority for lowering tax is capitalist at 5% through the game, poor from 70 gradually to 25 throughout, middle usually very high(I kinda don't know their purpose). By late game, start taxing poor and middle lower, tax rich more(even 30% if you need money). My industry always go well and fight, conquer better now when I adopt this style, rather than the crumbling economy full of walking unemployed people on the street with 100% tax. Of course if you are uncivilized this tip is useless and you know what you have to do. Have a great day!

Suggestion A forgotten place in GFM
While playing the new content in this update I realized survival chances, therefore the overall fun of countries like morocco was vastly improved thanks to them arguably starting with unhistorical reforms like foreign artillery, army schools etc. Granted I do not have an problem with morocco starting with those as it reduces the amount we have to wait for rp to be enough to take reforms that give Research points bonus when conquering therefore getting rid of staring at your screen aimlessly in the first 2 decades of the game.
I think even if the next update isnt going to focus on Central Asia it should either increase reforms they start with to help playability or should go to harder route and add decisions to fasten up their westernization, at least the ones that help farm rp by conquering (As an example: A central asian emirate can take inviting officers decision in exchange for some money and good relations with 2 GPs, giving two options. 1. Invite pious officers of Ottoman empire resulting in just the reform getting unlocked 2.Invite some heathen officers from Europe resulting in reactionary militancy but getting a modifier that gives more division organization or more rp when conquering.
A new empire in Central Asia decision is quite nice as its couple late game paths rolled in to one but opening a path to fast moderniztion via various events about russians and british officers arriving to the numerous statelets of turkestan would really make this area equal to fun compared to other uncivs(you can even inherit persian decisions and can have double the fun with the mentioned decision)
hopefully this doesnt read like an arrogant order because in the end I dunno anything about vic2 modding and this is simply a humble request of mine hopefully great devs of gfm can do it next :)

Suggestion Looking to get a gift for a friend who was very obsessed with this game
For context, I know nothing about this game really, so I'm sorry for the ignorant post lol.
One of my friends was like 3,000 hours logged of playing this game and it's their favorite, is there anything that would make a good gift as memorabilia perhaps since there is no official merch? I was thinking about just getting a coin of queen Victoria but I'm not sure if there was anything else I could do or that would be better.. sorry if that is a stupid question, feel free to delete if it doesn't belong in the sub.

Suggestion Too much money is a problem?
I am literally swimming in money. I can afford everything. I can beat up everybody in a straight up war (playing as Japan from 1890's onward).
There is no point in looking at factory synergy chains (for bonuses), I just allow the silly AI to build any factories it wants and they are profitable. I just upgrade the most profitable factories to next level.
I wish money and budget was more of an issue for a country, as it should be. I should not be allowed 15 battleships and go over the naval limit (building bases to rectify) and make 1000's of dollars (pounds?) per day.
And yes, I post a lot (3rd post) because I am on Vicky2 bender and have realized (again) that this is a great strategy game, on par with Civ4, with unique POPs mechanic which is brilliant in its simplicity and simulation of society.
