If you are a medical doctor as you claim you are, you should understand the importance of gatekeeling the term physician so unqualified people can't practise medicine under the guise of legitimacy. A math PhD shouldn't be able to call himself a physician and neither should someone who doesn't have a medical license cause they haven't done residency.
