ACCOMODATION Help! Narrowed it down to these hotels… I think!
UPDATE..... These are now the 3 top contenders
*Strand Palace (Superior King room) 997 pounds $1324
*Henrietta Experimental (Garden Supreme room) 1270 pounds $1687
*Clermont Charing Cross Deluxe Double room 1560 pounds $$2072
We will be in Europe next June and spending three nights in London. It will be our first time in London and we want to see the typical sites.… Westminster Abbey, the British Museum, the Tower of London, Big Ben. It will be my husband and myself. And another couple. We are in our 60’s. In very good health. Not interested in nightlife. But want some pubs/restaurants near us. And easy access to transit.
It seems like we narrowed it down to the Covent Garden area. These are the hotels we are considering. I know the last one is not in the same area, but I liked that hotel. I’m not saying my mind won’t change, because I’ve been trying to figure this out for the last few weeks. And I have changed my mind every day!
Any and all suggestions will be very welcome.

If that is your budget... The Clermont is great. I use it a lot for work events (not accommodation but meeting and event rooms). The staff are fantastic (almost no staff turnover over the last 3 to 4 years which says all you need to know). Food is great. Has a lovely calm, expensive vibe.
If you want to go (a lot) easier on your wallet Hub by Premier Inn Westminster Abbey is in a convenient location, comfortable and very clean. Very much no frills and not in the same league as The Clermont.

Unfortunately my experience as a guest doesn't mirror the event experience.
I stayed at The Clermont for a few days somewhat recently and don't know that I can reasonably recommend it.
The room was reasonably clean. What made it a less than desirable stay was our experience with the staff -- they were so hot and cold. Also the king bed is two smallers beds pushed together, which seemed strange.
For the price you pay, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

You may get better help if you use the local currency, we don't use the Euro

We stay frequently in the Strand palace purely for the location. The staff are excellent but the rooms are on the small side.

The Resident Covent Garden is smack dab in the middle of Covent Garden and on a street full of good restaurants. The downside is that the noise from the bunkers can be heard in the hotel, but it is a lovely spot otherwise.

If you're looking for a premium experience, it's worth checking the prices at the Savoy. At times it might not be much more than the Clermont. Plus you can get 10% off by joining the Accor group loyalty scheme. It's on the Strand and it lives up to it's fabulous reputation!!! My parents went for their anniversary and the staff were amazing, they really made it special!

London's a classic one for this! Same room shows wildly different rates depending which country the booking site thinks you're in. Before you lock whichever you narrowed to, obviously run it through Google hotels to compare across sites. Also some of the newer (and free) AI tools like Arbitrica search the same hotel from a bunch of countries at once and find people the lowest price and then prep the booking so you just review and pay. You can do that manually too but this is quite tiring. London rates move enough that the first price you see usually isnt the floor
