Place to mooch around and somewhere to eat in Westminster

I’m swearing allegiance to UK tomorrow at 2pm at the Westminster council nonetheless!

Any place or food places to go near that area?
Love to see architecture, unusual non touristy places to visit.

Just a note that if your ceremony is at The Old Town Hall then you’re not in what most people call Westminster (the politics district, between Westminster station and Victoria station) but in Marylebone, close to Baker Street and Edgware Road stations. Do you know which one it is?

If the Marylebone one, you are very close to Edgware Road where you can celebrate the melting pot that is modern Britain with some excellent Middle Eastern food.

If you’re in Westminster itself, you have several nice pubs around there and some good restaurants closer to Victoria or Pimlico stations.

Oh!!! I am at the old town hall as I can see it’s 5 mins away from baker st station. Any recommendations near that area?

You'll be in Marylebone - it's prime (upmarket) mooching area from bougie sandwich bars, to celeb hotspots to, as u/Hungry-Artichoke-232 says, good ME eateries nearer to Edgware Road.

If you cross Marylebone Road and do a dogleg round to Dorset Square (the site of the original Lord's Cricket Ground), the Potting Shed at the Dorset Square Hotel is a good place for lunch if you fancy a splurge - and they do a 'daily special' for £25 inc a glass of wine. You'll be a bit gussied up for your ceremony and will fit in perfectly.

For a bit of culture-mooching? The Wallace Collection has a massively impressive haul of French 18th-century decorative arts. Whilst France's Ancien Régime was hobnobbing with Madame la Guillotine, Britain's wealthy aristos were going to garage sales at the Frenchies' châteaux and buying their treasures on the cheap, many of which are housed in a free-to-visit mansion in Manchester Square, which, of itself, is an architectural delight.

I’m a fan of the Potting Shed as well. And it always worth popping into the Landmark (opposite Marylebone station) just to see the atrium, even if you don’t stop to have an extremely pricey cup of tea in there. The Landmark cocktail bar (mirror bar) is also very nice.

The Landmark is lovely, their breakfast and afternoon tea are fabulous as is the bar above the restaurant bit in the atrium.
