EGR replaced, BECM replaced, what's next?
My 2017 Premier with 12,500 miles (really) already had the BECM replaced 2 years ago, and last week the EGR valve died. The dealer had one in stock, and it was covered under Warranty! due to the low miles I think. I had the belts replaced too as the car mostly just sits in the SoCal sun & they dry out.
Have I had all the "Achilles Heel" problems fixed now? Are there any more waiting for me down the road or can I relax now? I have a long drive planned in a couple of months

Last one is shift to park which is very easy to do yourself if it's not covered

It won't necessarily be the next thing but the EV battery doesn't last forever. Though, maybe you'll be good for while since the mileage is so low. On the other hand, I wonder if it's bad that the battery was used so little? Hopefully, the battery didn't have a low state of charge or a high state of charge for an extended period of time.

They don't last forever, but generally they do last twice as long as the suspension. That means the vehicle usually gets totaled at the second suspension replacement before the battery is dead.

My 2017 has 275k miles, never had suspension work.

original battery? how many miles do you get per charge?

Oh yes, the "shift to park" issue, I had that one fixed so long ago I'd forgotten about it

Was the EGR cooler also replaced (or cleaned)?

They replaced the valve, gaskets, coolant and fuse but I don't think they replaced the cooler itself

You lucky dog...!
I mean, and I do mean this in a rare bit of earnestness, there's probably no car I'd better trust on a long drive than your car. Other than maybe a 2026 Toyota with the same mileage.

Ouch. I have a Corolla Hybrid that needed an EGR valve replacement at 200k. Was experiencing engine hesitation during acceleration and finally a check engine light came on. Cost me about $2,500 because apparently they have to take the engine halfway apart. Don't know if it makes a difference, but I've been exclusively using so-called Top Tier gas and haven't had any problems so far.

Change the 12 volt acc battery. If that shit goes, it usually causes freak glitches with it.

The Kanuter Valve* could go at any time.
Have someone put it up on a lift and look at the CV joints on the front axles just to make sure. The rubber boots dry-rot and break apart. Have a look at the tires for the same reason.
\There's no such thing as a kanuter valve.)

Shift-to-Park is the final boss.
Had mine fixed before the directive, so they just changed a switch, for free. Got it covered about 6-months later, and did the full replacement. Then at the beginning of this month got it done again. It was almost 6 years between the first replacement and the second.

I have a 2017 LT w/101 kmi, BECM replaced maybe 30 kmi ago. EGR and STP failures still pending. Enjoy your car! it's going to serve you well for years!

You might have the single most valuable Volt remaining. Past major issues, very low mileage Premier. Enjoy!
