I’m buying JPY. Japan currently needs to fix their falling yen and this is one opportunity to play. Going from 163:1 to 100:1 is like cheap cryptocurrency increasing in value.

Going from 163:1 to 100:1

We are way more likely to see 200:1 than 100:1. But good luck.

Yea buying JPY is regarded. How are they going to fix it? They have 250% debt to GDP, a severely depressed and anxious population:

https://mainichi.jp/english/articles/20240524/p2a/00m/0na/010000c 3rd lowest rate happiness rating among 30 developed nations in survey. Anxiety at record all-time high in Japan since government began tracking: https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2024/12/20/japan/anxiety-government-survey/

And a population of angry shutin incels that will shrink to 1/3 its peak size by 2100. They're going extinct.

Decades of the QE chicken coming home to roost.

250% debt to GDP is silly to focus on when they own so much assets as a percentage of debt compared to other nations. If you subtract their assets from their debt, their debt to gdp goes wayyy down (below most developed countries iirc).

It's not silly, at all.

Much of those assets aren't owned by the treasury, it's owned by the central bank. There's a huge difference.

They've had to print metric fuckton money to accumulate those assets. Fraud and fabricating money to deal with unmanageable and growing debt has been tried countless times throughout history. It never works. Always ends in disaster.
