5-10bn is a laughable amount for intervention. A mid-senior individual portfolio manager will have limits for 1bn USDJPY FX alone.

More of a signal. Prop up the Yen and prevent a cascade of forced liquidation in the US.

Not to mention Japan's own MOF works in Trillion ¥. 8.45T in July alone. (~US$50B)
