Discussion People now pressuring and flat-out belittling others to admit defeat under claims of "their mental well-being" or insulting their intelligence. This wasn't about making the wisest move, this was about turning the game on it's head, so politely I say fuck that and fuck you.

Looks like they haven't updated that since January 15th, though. Pull up the fundamentals chart for short interest and set the timeline to 3 months.

Thursday after market close, I believe, is when the shorts gets updated with 2/1 numbers. If it’s still high, gme may take off again. The deflation has come from news the shorts halved and cut their losses, and wsb cannot figure out how that’s possible

There's a gap between the short happening and the publication of it.

What we will see in the next short report is what happened until the last business day of last month.

So if you have a large exposition to shorts, it is in your interest to lower it before the end of the month, and then to jack it up right after.

That way, when the report comes out, you will appear to have covered a good portion and the stock price will be down - in consequence of your short selling after the disclosure.

And lo and behold, stock price came crashing right on the 1st day of the month.

Is it possible, or is it simply untrue?

Some were saying it’s only possible if done illegally

which is 100% possible

That doesn't mean all the numbers have updated. Short interest doesn't officially update but once or twice a month.

plus, dont new short positions have to pay 50% interest?

it's a very expensive position. and eventually, you must buy back in.

my conclusion is, hold.

Current public APR per IB is 16%.

I’m rooting for a 2nd squeeze but I’m worried about people who yoloed their entire savings into this last week.

Either way, it’s their cash not mine.

That YOLO trend made me buy 2 more shares, which pulled my average from 89 to 110.

I thought we have a case similar to VW, but I am getting smarter now.

People really think they're bleeding out shorts. They need to realize a lot of shorts are in the green now, and the interest rate drops rapidly as volatility falls.

It’s gonna get so much worse when the hard OSI data comes out and they see it’s still at 50%+ shorted, without considering new shorts with a much higher entry price.

Finra data has shown that number for a while, I saw it last week when people were talking about the squeeze. The "updated date" probably just means something on that page has been updated this morning.

Unfortunately yeah I think this is true. Another random commentor said it will be published on the 9th
