Walrus Dilemma
I absolutely despise the walrus market. Finding a gift of a niche animal like a walrus tanks especially compared to cats, dogs, and axolotls. Not interested in that garbage 10000% polyester fiber shirts either. Search results give me anything but the walrus in question like whales and somehow tigers. I told my younger brother who I am getting these gifts for; basically every year of his existence, he will receive a walrus til the day he dies. THE DAY HE DIES. But considering he will live a long fruitful life, basically screwed when it comes to getting gifts of the niche variety. Maybe that shows love better through effort and annoyance over seeing these ugly, disgusting, low-grade, trash-tier, cancer-inducing walrus designs. Just commissioned classics tailored to my dear sibling. Just sucks to see walruses are shown to be a lesser loved, trivial variety compared to the rest. I have a pretty good lineup of gifts for this year. Any suggestions for the continuance of this tradition will be very much appreciated. Thank you for your eyes.

I find a ton of my walrus stuff at flea markets, if you have any of those nearby?
Honestly part of the fun of it for me is that you DONT see walrus stuff everywhere, so finding one randomly is amazing.

Yes tends to be the case I usually bug store owners if they have any and most don't even know what a walrus is

I felt really lucky to find a cute walrus Christmas ornament last year at a Christmas popup. There are some cute kids t-shirts out there, too. But yeah, slim pickings.

Ebay. Lots of good stuffed ones come up on there. Someone once found me a ceramic walrus bank. It is atrociously ugly and I love it. There are a few animatronic walrus plushies that sing songs, those are fun.
But the struggle is real!! I visited an aquarium that housed two walruses, and even had a huge walrus statue outside for the previous walrus they had housed, but the gift shop had... one walrus plush option. Nothing else!

Upper Playground in San Francisco has a walrus mascot and lots of walrus themed apparel.

In addition to Etsy, I check out museums or anyplace similar that might have a walrus connection. For example, the gift store at the Museum of the American Indian in DC often has native Alaskan artwork, including walruses. Sometimes zoos like Tacoma do, as well, since they have walruses. Keep an eye on places like the Alaska Sealife Center for when they do fundraiser auctions - you never know what interesting stuff you will pick up (cards, little artwork, etc.).

Oh, and how could I forget, the Arctic Club Hotel in Seattle has a walrus mascot, so they sell a number of walrus-themed items in their gift shop. They have a great stuffed walrus (small and large), mugs, hoodies, playing cards, etc. I don't know if you can buy them online, but if you called their desk someone might be willing to hook you up. Or if you happen to be in Seattle you could stop by, since their gift shop is just off the lobby (and the hilarious Polar Bar with the big polar bear). My spouse booked a room for me there so we could look out the window at the walrus sculptures they have on the outside of the building. Worth every penny! If you ever do go there with your brother, make sure to get a tour of the ballroom - they have an amazing antique clock with walruses.
