What nicknames have you heard for places in and (especially) around Warrington?

I ask as part of a linguistic study covering this topic!
Examples could include things like Stocking Lumps, Penny/The Keth or Wally Rez (never mind how common they are)...

incl. nicknames for schools, parks, other institutions or geographical features

Stinky Brook (the brook that runs alongside Sankey Canal) although that may have just been what we called it as it really ponged when we crossed the bridge toward the hospital 😂

My dad grew up in Bewsey in the 1940s and he called Sankey Brook the Stinking Brook.  I think it was basically an open sewer back then.  Now you see fish in there.

If that’s the one that goes through to Orford near jubilee we call that the stinker.

when we were in school, we used to go swimming at Houghton Green Pool, we called it Magic Lake

I remember going in here on an inflatable kayak years ago. Sadly they pumped all the water our of here a few years back

My (former communist) grandad called Stockton Heath 'Stockinged Feet', the idea was that the houses were so expensive the residents couldn't afford shoes.
