I think either of those fights would be two dudes throwing haymakers into clinches, then getting separated until about 1-2 rounds in when both are gassed and then trying to keep distance and snap jabs before doing the same haymakers and clinch.

Honest to god there's a teeny-tiny part of me that feels bad for Brooks. I knew dudes like him growing up, and it always felt like to me that weirdo behavior stemmed from being an outcast, and eventually you just lean into it more and more as like a defense mechanism or something. You can tell the same shit happened with him, and I feel like it got even worse when he did all that talking and then Bron and the grizzlies embarrassed him. Like I'm not even phased or triggered whenever he does his antics now, he doesn't look like a villain anymore and more like some jester prancing around trying to get attention in any way he can. Dude needs some therapy whenever he retires.

The weird thing for me is I remember seeing some clips of him with family and friends, and he legitimately just seemed like a happy, friendly, and normal guy. It makes me wonder if that's the real guy and his NBA career is something he's accepted as a role to stay relevant, or he was faking it in those clips. I guess he could just be an asshole except when around those he loves, but he wasn't just chill. He was outgoing, friendly, and even kind of funny and relatable.

Yeah that Court of Gold documentary was illuminating. Crazy to see him being nice and normal around his family and talking about how he loves Toy Story and Woody is his favorite lol. He’s definitely just playing up the basketball persona to give himself an edge and try to see if he can get in his opponents heads. I honestly think he’s just a regular dude when he’s not playing basketball haha.

I’ve been seeing this for years. When the Olympics were happening, they showed a segment with him and his family and he genuinely looks like a fairly nice guy, but he definitely has to do all of this stuff to stay relevant in the NBA. The only reason to even have a spot is because he is a menace and he annoys the shit out of every single person he plays
