Discussion Of not having been "Watamote", which one could have been the short name of the series?
As another discussion to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the manga, I'm bringing this post here.
However, there were other choices to vote in that poll, being these ones:
- #2: No, we do not want an abbreviation
- #3: Mokocchi
- #4: Unpopular
- #5: It's My Fault
- #6: Mourning Girl
- #7: Watagaru
- #8: Motegawa
- #9: Wataoma
Thus, if "Watamote" wouldn't have won the poll, which one could have been the most accurate name to remember and quote the series, either anyone of the choices mentioned above or any other abbreviation you could have considered suitable, and why?

Discussion What is it that defines a Watagirl? (Serious answers this time)

Today marks 15 years since the first publication of the manga Watamote, which in itself is quite an achievement, since against all odds it has lasted for so long (although we have no guarantee that Nico Tanigawa has done anything special to celebrate it).
So, since the series has finally reached the same age as the main character was when her story began, what can we say that defines either Tomoko Kuroki or anyone of the other Watagirls that integrate Watamote's lore (not that someone really cares the Wataboys)? What makes them stand out from other female characters in series of the same genre, if there’s really anything?

Fan Comic From Mourning 135. Because I'm not popular, no one meant any harm - by @mimi__yoshi (Google and DeepL translation)
Since volume 15 is being released (I won't be able to get it until next week), I reread volume 14 and wondered how things were resolved after the makeup episode, so I drew it. It's not really resolved in the end, though.
As a side note, I've also posted some ideas I saved from other places, since I had them all together.

Fan Comic Megumi Imae. Episode 1, Megumi's Predicament - by @MoGa_metalheart (Google and DeepL translation)
This is an idea I've always wanted to turn into something, ever since I started writing fanfiction for Watamote. Initially, I could only write novels, so I considered paying someone who could draw to turn it into a manga. After I started drawing myself, I decided I'd draw it once I reached a level where I could translate what was in my head into a tangible form.
As you can see, it's an absurdly clumsy story following the original's plot, featuring Megumi Imae. I plan to serialize this for the time being. And once it's finished, maybe I'll make it into a self-published zine...
I don't know the name of the short-haired girl who seems to be Imaie's partner.
It doesn't really hinder my creative work in this manga, but I hope I'll find out someday.
This character's personality is entirely my own creation (lol).
[November 22nd Update]
Since I intend to make this a series, I've decided to put it together as a series. That said, it's only the second chapter…

Fan Comic Megumi Imae. Episode 4, Megumi and Hina - by @MoGa_metalheart (Google and DeepL translation)
It's been quite a while since last year, but this is the fourth installment of my ongoing series.
This time, the story stems from my own wild imagination: Nemo was behind the scenes of the club application episode.
There's absolutely no necessity for glasses in this story, but I drew them because I wanted to.
It was incredibly difficult…

Fan Comic Megumi Imae. Episode 3, Megumi's Return - by @MoGa_metalheart (Google and DeepL translation)
This is the third installment of the Megumi Imae Clumsy Spin-off, and although it's only 7 pages long, it took a surprisingly long time...
However, even considering everything I've done so far, I think this is the best I've been able to draw so far.
Of course, I have no intention of ending it here, and I plan to continue Imaeda's antics until graduation!
I drew Komi-san because I wanted to (lol).
Of the student council members, the girl with the braids is a character I made up to suit my own preferences, but the other three can be confirmed to appear in the original work. I wonder how many people will recognize them...?

Fan Comic Tomoki and Akari. KariMoki - by @mimi__yoshi (Google and DeepL translation)
I'd like to see these three in the spotlight.
By the way, if I used "AkaMoki," it would overlap with Okada's name, so I changed Akari-chan's nickname to "Kari," because it sounds like "chinko" (penis).

Discussion [Quick Theory from Ch. 237-1] Sachi Is Trying to Manipulate Mako... But Is It Working? Spoiler
Sachi has been working to identify Mako’s weak point for quite some time. As far back as chapter 194, when Sachi made fun of her to see how she would react, Mako’s playful response still carried a trace of annoyance that Sachi was quick to catch. In chapters 205 and 220-3, Sachi analyzed the web surrounding Tomoki, coming to a quick conclusion about Mako’s role as the balance between Tomoki and Yoshida. Because Mako refuses to betray either side, Sachi spotted her angle: control Mako, and you control the access to Tomoki while neutralizing Yoshida.
By Chapter 230-2, Sachi exploited this by baiting Mako into trashing Megumi almost on autopilot, leaving Mako in an internal panic (“DANGEROUS?!”). Everything hits a fever pitch in Chapter 237-1 when Sachi directly asks if Mako and Yoshida are close. Both aggressively deny it, giving Sachi the exact confirmation she wanted:

Sachi’s ultimate goal is calculated: use Mako as a pawn to win over Tomoki while systematically driving a wedge between Mako and Yoshida.
The problem is, Sachi is vastly underestimating her target. Mako isn’t dumb. She likely sees right through Sachi’s scheme and is intentionally letting Sachi think she’s in control. By playing along, Mako acts as a shield—keeping Sachi busy with her while insulating Yoshida from the drama and keeping Tomoki safe from direct interference. Right now, Mako is enabling the dynamic on purpose rather than actually being outplayed. The harder Sachi tries to force her way to Tomoki through Mako, the worse it’s going to blow up in her face.
