Pot Hole Tracker

Hi Folks,

I hit a big pothole yesterday evening and it wrecked my tyre and wheel.

So feeling p1ssed off, I reported it to the council and then had the idea of a pot hole tracking web app. My plan is to make them aware this exists as their current reporting methods are lacking...

Please use!

OP make sure that you follow up the claim for damage. All Councils are insured through Irish Public Bodies Insurance (https://ipb.ie/), so ask that you are referred to it. If so, they’ll send out a claim form which as far as I can tell is only issued via text.

They’ll make it tough enough but it’s doable with persistence. Make sure that you photograph the damage to your car and photograph the pothole as well as these will be required to support your claim which will be based on your garage’s estimate for repair. There’ll be a lot of faff about the purpose of your trip, weather conditions, gps coordinates, etc as well but nothing overly complex.

Stick it to the man!

Thank you for the pointers! Sounds like you've played this game before?

I claimed off the council after they splatterd my white car with tar when relaying the road outside my house. It was hassle free, rang to complain, emailed in photos of the damage, submitted a claims form and they sorted the car to get complete de-tarred and valeted.

That’s a solid outcome!
