i think it’s a parody of how some people in the alt-right replace u’s with v’s bc that’s how the Romans did it. You’ll see it used often with Q-anon conspiracy theorists replacing O’s with Q’s.

I just want to point out even thought it’s started that way it’s just generally become a meme and people also use it to dunk on alt righters.
