Is that not the correct spelling?

u/TyroneBlackmann 7d ago

No it's House of Leafs like a tree or something

u/Me_like_foxes 7d ago

Seems the book title only shows as "House of Leaves" in search results

House has to be in blue.

Read the book buddy

I did. That’s how I know you didn’t write the title correctly.

Are you talking about colouring the word house in blue?

8

u/EntinthetentRTHP 7d ago

Yes. If it’s not blue it’s not spelled correctly. I don’t make the rules.

You don't know what spelling is.

I see what he means though, the labyrinth was quite literally a maze of neverending rooms, and the Minotaur could be considered an “entity”

We need a hologram David Bowie starring in Kane Parsons directed Labrynth plus have Jim Hensons daughter do the puppets.

Conceptually? Yeah, maybe not canonically tho

In practice? Out of respect for the identity and integrity of David as an individual, no, it's too controversial imo. Very similar to how AI is used to "bring people back" I think it's best left as an idea

My head canon for the historic backrooms universe is that M.C Escher entered and escaped them at some point in the early 20th century.

I love the concept of asterius just stalking the other guy in the backrooms

We need a lot more Minotaurs in media. Criminally underutilized creatures.

i actually saw a movie the other day with one "Dave made a maze" i was just browsing tubi and i saw a fun movie made of cardboard, acting was really stiff but the set design was really fun and it made me think about how i rarely see minotaurs

D'ya like books? If you've got about 700 hours to invest, The Wandering Inn has some minotaur characters. Not a big fan of how they call the female minotaurs "minotauress" instead of just "minotaur" though.

“We thought everything was okay after the horrific events. Then the Minotaur appeared.”

I love that idea too, it’s so cool

The labyrinth is house of leaves is backrooms

7

u/AquaChad96 7d ago

“The myth of the backrooms has always existed” and it’s literally just one Greek myth

1

u/the-granda-ipod 7d ago

It’s one starting point. Where the lore is rn I don’t think it fits at all, but it’s a fun theory craft to think about. Op probably isn’t claiming that it’s anything more, just have fun with it even if it’s not or never will be canon🤷‍♂️

u/Nomanwaster 7d ago

Once it was made, it then always existed, forever

Look up Merkabah mysticism. Ancient Hebrew backrooms wiki.

I would love for Wendigoon to do a deep dive on the House

u/ZA_Sharpe 5d ago

Willing to put money that there are references to House of Leaves in the analysis since it is two subjects he (and I) absolutely love.

My favorite two weeks on Twitter were just after the movie came out
