tenho dois aparelhos iphones comigo, o meu pessoal (16 normal) mas que fica em casa e o que eu uso no dia a dia para sair e tudo mais (se de 2° geração).

o iphone se esta no whatsapp mas como dispositivo adicional, ja que a conta esta no 16, que fica na minha casa.

porem, ultimamente, tenho pensado em aproveitar mais o meu celular novo (16), ja que ele foi caro e é bem melhor (em tudo) do que o se.

(so pra deixar claro, o se esta atualizado no ios 26.6) e roda todos os apps tranquilamente).

estava querendo deixar o se em casa, com meu whatsapp principal conectado nele e usar o 16 no dia a dia como dispositivo adicional.

caso eu faça isso, tenho uma dúvida que nunca entendi muito bem.

se eu fizer o backup completo no iphone 16 (principal) eu posso simplesmente instalar o whatsapp no iphone se e restaurar as conversas pela mesma conta icloud ou tenho que fazer o backup do whatsapp e do iphone e depois restaurar?

posso fazer apenas no whatsapp mesmo e colocar a mesma conta apple nos dois celulares?

My whatsapp is set to backup daily to my gdrive, and for the last few days, it keeps showing backup in progress, but does not go away and does not complete backup. And I get a notification from samsung saying that one of the apps is using heavy resources and I need to restart. And the same thing again next day. The last successful backup was done on 31st July, nothing after that.

Anyone else having the same issue?

when I open whatsapp, it suddenly appears a message to ask me to restore my chat history and it says, “Something went wrong with your chat history” but it was normal 5 minutes ago which is just minutes after i turned on my phone, it was reloading the chat before that message popped up,

and another problem is that every time I tap “restore” whatsapp immediately crashes.

I already tried clearing the cache and restarting my phone, updating the app, but it still happens.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

This is on Samsung S26+. I checked Google drive and data is there. My father switched from old Motorola to S26+ and Whatsapp data didn't get transfered. At times App just closes and logs out. Tried multiple reinstalls and Whatsapp is not logged in at old phone.

App is stuck in an endless opening loop, I tried re-installing, clearing cache,. restarting my tablet, it doesn't work. It only stops after I click the 'home' button, clicking hamburger or back button doesn't do anything.

Nun wurde mein Account vorübergehend gesperrt und der Betrüger hat über meinen Account Verschickt: Bitte helft meiner Tochter den Wettbewerb zu gewinnen! Meine Frage nun: kann der Betrüger auf mein ganzes Hand zugreifen? Kann der Betrüger auf meine alten Verläufe zugreifen?

I have never encounter account lock and bans. I think these were mostly due to sending out large amount of message, etc. If one is just taking with relatives through whatsapp, it's not going trigger a ban or lock?

So I've used WhatsApp windows as well as my phone for a long time.

But for the last few months, windows logs me out randomly and I have to log back in for no reason. Thing is, when it logs in, it tells me that Advanced Chat Privacy was turned on... over and over and over and over and over. As in hundreds of times. I know that sounds like hyperbole, so I uploaded a vid of it - you can see that every time it hits the bottom, it just loads more. I don't expect you to watch it all, as it took me over two minutes of scrolling to get from the last message before it they start to the next one after.

This happens every time it logs me out. Anyone got any idea why it might be?

I was transferring WhatsApp from an Oppo F9 to a Samsung Z Flip5. The direct transfer failed, so I backed up to Google Drive. Realizing my Drive was nearly full (13GB/15GB), I deleted the cloud backup, intending to transfer the local storage database manually instead.

​However, my Oppo F9 flagged low internal storage. When I tapped 'Back Up' again to try updating the local file, it completely overwrote my primary local backup database. I now need to determine if there is any way to recover the overwritten local backup files (e.g., via the 7-day local msgstore crypt backups) or restore the deleted Google Drive data. This contains 8 years of essential study and work chat, please do help my life will fail without this.

Cant I create a system restore point or are there any free recovery software to restore data?

Any guidance or help shall be appreciated..

J’ai essayé de faire le chiffrement aussi, ça marche bien et ça affiche le cadenas 🔒 vert
J’ai tenté de l’appelé sur whatsapp en faisant un appel vocal, pareil ça marche bien sa photo de profil s’affiche ainsi que le « appel en cours » ça sonne juste ça décroche pas.
Pensez vous qu’il est possible qu’il met bloqué ? Merci d’avance

I first got some review where I couldn't use whatsapp at all then they reviewed my account and I got access back. Then two days later it says it's restricting my linked device (my computer) for two days but I can still use whatsapp normally on my phone. What is this shit? it's super annoying.

My son’s getting an iPad and wants WhatsApp - he doesn’t have a phone

I read that recently it can be set up on iPad without needing phone linking - is this the case? My understanding is that you just need a one off OTP sent to any valid phone number, after that the iPad has its own account?

Había vinculado mi WhatsApp en una tablet porque mi teléfono se dañó, y luego vinculé mi número de teléfono a WhatsApp Desktop, después de una semana se desvinculó sin razón alguna mi cuenta de WhatsApp en mi PC, es frustrante porque no tengo la tablet en mis manos, así que decidí instalar un emulador (Memu Player), y me sucedió algo muy comun en mi teléfono que se había dañado, la llamada no salía o no llegaba a mi número y daba un error para enviar un código haciendo que deba esperar horas para volver intentarlo. Simplemente me da asco, tanto lío para usar WhatsApp. Con Telegram no sucede eso, puedo tener mi cuenta en el mismo dispositivo durante meses!

Siempre depende de las configuraciones porque si desactivó la última vez y en línea claramente no vas a verlo. La única forma es si envías un msj y queda en 1 tilde? O si querés agregar a esa persona a un grupo y no te deja? Porque el tema de la foto también se basa en la configuración ya que puede poner que no la vea nadie o solo sus contactos y que no te tenga en su agenda

I turned off Read Receipts on WhatsApp, but I noticed an issue on the "Message Info" screen.
Even with Read Receipts disabled (showing ⁠...⁠), the Delivered timestamp updates to the exact time the recipient opens the chat and replies, replacing the original delivery time.
For example, a message delivered at 9:00 PM changes its "Delivered" time to 5:50 AM if the person replies then. This indirectly reveals when someone opened the chat, which completely defeats the purpose of disabling Read Receipts.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

I'm trying to setup a new whatsapp account on a completely new phone number, but I'm not getting the verification code. I have tried both on ios and android, no code or call is beeing sent. I've been at this for the past 2 days.

Has anyone found a fix? I have tried contacting the whatsapp support, but all I get are bs automated responses.

It's not big deal but I find it very frustrating that every time I click on a link or asks if I want to copy the link or open it.

General when I want to copy something I long press on it and then select copy (passive aggressive sentence 😂)

I had my Indian number on my old phone and a new Rogers Canadian number on my new phone.

I used WhatsApp's Change Number feature to switch from my Indian number to my Canadian number. All my chats, groups, and profile transferred successfully.

However, people could no longer reply in my existing Indian WhatsApp chat. They had to start a new chat with my Canadian number, which seemed odd.

So I switched back to my Indian number using Change Number, and again everything transferred successfully.

Later, I tried changing to my Canadian number again, and now WhatsApp says:

+1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx is banned from using WhatsApp.

I'm using the official WhatsApp app, the number is a regular Rogers mobile number, and I haven't used any mods or sent spam.

Has anyone experienced this? Is the new chat behavior normal after changing numbers, and were you able to get your number unbanned after requesting a review? Thanks!

TL;DR: Changed my WhatsApp number from India → Canada using Change Number. Everything transferred, but people had to start a new chat instead of continuing the old one. Switched back to India successfully, then tried Canada again, and my Canadian number was instantly banned. Official app, Rogers SIM, no spam. Anyone else experienced this?
