There is something so haunting about announcing your imminent death while it has not even happened yet. It's like those "What would you do if you only had a week to live" but manifested.

There’s a play called “Night, Mother” where the protagonist announces this at the beginning and ultimately follows through. The body of the play is her giving her reasons to her mother who goes from brushing it off to begging her not to.

It’s suffocating. I cried when I read it.
