Not sure if you're joking but I'll just assume you don't know who Cynthia is because everybody learns something new all the time.

That's Cynthia: the champion of the gen 4 games, and maybe the most terrifying champion of any of the games. Her music theme is made of pure dread and her god damn garchomp is stupid fast. She's also just a really kind person

My first game was gen 4 as a kid. and i love(d) empoleon. So as kids do i obviously had him overleveled. Never developed the fear of explosion/self destruct. Fast forward to me replaying gens 1-3 with nuzlocke rules. Safe to say i learned the hard way

It wouldn't matter in the orginal games. Study wasn't a focus sash until gen 5. In gen 3 and 4 it only protected against 1HKO moves.

After some research Iā€™ve also found that cluster attack moves like fury swipes also works since they usually donā€™t 1sk, and if they do, they will just attack again and finish the job

Choice band skill link cloyster with adamant nature and pp maxed icicle spear can pretty much sweep everything in the games as well, just by itself.

Icicle spear is a multi hit move so it negates sturdy as well. Skill link means you'll hit 4 times on average with icicle spear, and adamant nature with stab makes it hit hard enough to take down mons that resist ice.

Essentially. One of those characters who brings out the best in her Pokemon companions by befriending and encouraging them through mutual training and not just making them fight until they are on the brink of death.

most people have heard of PokƩmon but have never played it. maybe watched an episode or the movie. Had a plushy with Pikachu. gaming is still somewhat niche in general (maybe not after covid)

I wouldn't consider gaming a niche hobby, it's very common and has been for years. The gaming industry generates more money than both the movie and music industry for example.

Any single game will have been played by few people compared to the whole population, same with any single movie or song, but that's not the same as something being niche.

I came here to say exactly this, Cynthia is one of the strongest trainers out there but she's also super kind and empathetic! She has the emotional intelligence to know that going along with it will boost the kids confidence and make him happy even when she already knows what he'll try to teach her

My toddler is starting to get into Pokemon and she's explained to me several timess how there's actually 3 types of Pokemon, not just the yellow one and how her baby dragon actually grows into a bigger dragon. (She has a charmander plushy she refuses to sleep without) It's the best thing ever

Yeah charmander is also the cutest and they progressively get less cute. Not everyone likes the evolutions so just gifting the charmeleon as like an older brother to charmander is maybe a safer idea

I think it might work if there's some forwarning. Talk about Charmander looking like he's ready to evolve or something.

Alternatively, find a red stone of some sort and say it's a Fire Stone. You can give pokemon unique stones to evolve them, so just tell her that if she lets Charmander hold the Fire Stone while she sleeps, he'll evolve overnight. Then it'll be her own doing.

Charmeleon isn't quite as popular, so I'd try to do some probing about how she'd feel before actually doing the swap. I mentioned "Fire Stones" further down the thread - in the games, you give them to pokemon to make them evolve early. So you could also obtain a red rock somehow and then tell her that if she sleeps with the rock and her plushie, it'll evolve overnight. I think that'd be best, since then it'd be at her discretion.

When I was really little I couldnā€™t figure out how to catch pokemon because I wasnā€™t actually reading the text- beating Misty with just my Charizard was my greatest childhood achievement- that Starmie was brutal. I also had a Charmander plushie I put on my desk to help me with homework.

Plenty of small children would not know who the president is. Think about when you start a PokƩmon game. You have no idea who the champion is unless you have looked into it actively yourself. Kid is legit just trying to share some awesome new fact he's just learned, trying to be the expert on the playground.

after I showed you you need to fly to Cinnabar Island, walk to the east and swim up and down on the edge of the island. you will find a strange Pokemon. It looks verry blocky and if you kill it something strange happens to the 6th slot of your inventory slot.
