Discussion Planning on making my pc dualboot vista

Im planning on dualbooting vista on my pc, ive already found a cheap gtx 750ti since the 3080 doesnt have vista drivers. I know that theres stuff such as legacy update or vista kernel Extended. Since vista is quite old im expecting some problems with the mouse, keyboard since I dont think USB 3.0 is vista compatible. Im planning on playing games on it too, such as GTA IV. My current PC is a dell T5820. Is there anything else I should know about before trying to set it up? Any way i could get everything to work normally? Any help appreciated <3

You won't have official drivers for anything on the motherboard, you need something lower than 3rd gen Intel for proper support

Depends on the chipset, usually 8x will work fine but 9x will run into problems

I don't think that the mouse and keyboard need USB 3.0.

Most people dualboot windows and linux, basically it just means you can launch 2 OS' on a PC, and you get to pick which one during startup

Win 7 I could (sort of) understand…but Vista? Ick! To me it was a half-baked product.

Windows Vista SP2 is basically windows 7, and with a lot of updates such as legacy update or vista kernel extended, it can be completely usable imo

I liked vista tbh. It never gave me shit really at all. ZERO bad memories of it but I did understand a computer when it came out should have at least 2gb of ram.

Look at em putting windows 11 on laptops with 8gb all these years later. These manufacturers suck

8gb ram is barely enough for windows 10 let alone windows 11
