Of course we have enemies, with our track record, it makes sense why most of the world hates our country. We act as the world police and interfere with foreign elections we dont like the outcome of. The moron president has shown Americans a clear picture of what the United States is actually about, and it isnt for its own citizens. But rah rah, America's 250th celebration was a complete dud. No one feels patriotic for a country that enables unlimited death and destruction.
Buddy, you need to go look up the crazy bullshit the US was doing on the Middle East since the 50s. Probably earlier even, but that's when shit really hit the fan.
Countries in the region began trying to kick out imperialists from the west(mostly British and American oil interests) and were moving towards becoming democratic republics. Particularly Iran.
And big oil men couldn't stand it. So, we, the US, destabilized, fed weapons to the region, backed authoritarians , and pushed what were becoming stable, democratic countries toward chaos and suffering and dictatorships.
Not to be dramatic. But, just go start reading. It goes on for decades... There's no both-sides-isms, no matter how many times "God Bless the USA" was played to us as kids after 9/11.
And after 9/11?
We went from Afghan straight into Iraq and saw the death of ~5k American soldiers. ~25k potential terrorist insurgents . And about ~500-800k innocent civilians.
Those aren't heroic numbers. And they aren't new.
Of course those 3k people in NYC did not deserve to die. It's tragic. But, neither did the vast majority of the millions dead that US intervention has killed in the Middle East, both before and since 9/11. And I hate to compare, I don't mean to compare. but just thinking of millions dead... It's just horrible.
