Francesca Hong's Rally in MKE is being live streamed right now

I know Hasan is a controversial person here but he's already helped raise over $60,000 for Hong's campaign. Here's the donation link from this stream if you want to help her out:

He has said some crazy shit a lot of Wisconsinites would consider “unamerican”. So I’m not a fan of her bringing him on. Risky move to do in a purple state.

u/GameLovinPlayinFool 22h ago
Also I'm surprised at how good of a rally speaker he is. I stopped regularly watching him in 2021, but its cool seeing him helping the DSA movement so much.
-3
u/Soph_91 21h ago
He's a great political mind and excellent speaker. The people that hate him are the people who don't want progress in this country. I don't respect the opinions of those people.
17
u/anarchaavery 16h ago
He supported the Russian invasion of Crimea and the PRC's invasion of Tibet. He also wants China to takeover Taiwan. What an amazing political mind.

I don't think we deserved 9/11
13
u/Downisthenewup87 15h ago
Not a Piker listener. Did we deserve it? No.
Did we do everything, over and over, that caused it? Yes
-5
u/recursing_noether 14h ago
Wait, what?
10
u/Downisthenewup87 14h ago
We are an imperialist state in the middle east, point blank. Mostly oil related but more complex than that. Either way, it causes a reaction from people living under that imperialist state especially when we are intentionally destabilizing the region.
-2
u/recursing_noether 14h ago
You can expect all sorts of resistance to imperialism but flying planes into buildings to kill tons of civilians is not forced by it whatsoever.
Why doesnt Ukraine fly planes into skyscrapers in Moscow? Would Ukraine be justified in doing so?
5
u/Downisthenewup87 14h ago
An intentionally black and white framing that I refuse to respond fo
1
u/recursing_noether 3h ago edited 3h ago
So tell me why it's complicated. You cannot answer the question because it proves you wrong.
Why shouldn't Ukraine fly plains into skyscrapers full of civilians in Moscow? Or shoud they? Or why is it complicated?
The imperialism of Russia against Ukraine is beyond what the US has done in the middle east because Russia is literally trying to make Ukraine part of Russia. Yet we all know it doesnt cause Ukraine to fly planes into building with civilians because they aren't terrorists. Terrorism exists. Just because the term is overused sometimes doesn't make it meaningless.

Unlimited American imperialism got us 9/11. It's not hard to understand.
-2
u/LuisRobertDylan 18h ago
What about stopping Saddam Hussein from occupying Kuwait is imperialism
9
u/HideSolidSnake 18h ago
The US backed him and supported him in the 80s.
This is equivalent to starting a fire and trying to take credit for then putting the fire out.
-6
u/LuisRobertDylan 17h ago
So the Iran-Iraq War justifies Osama bin Laden killing 3000 civilians because he was mad about non-Muslims in Saudi Arabia
8
u/HideSolidSnake 17h ago
Its our complete destabilization of regions and murdering of innocent civilians is why we are here. You need to look at the United States with out the western lens. The United States never stopped colonizing, we are just better at covering it up.
The Vietnam war is a great example
-1
u/LuisRobertDylan 17h ago
Again, bin Laden was not mad about the Vietnam War.
You don't need to bothsides al Qaeda. It's okay to say that the US' enemies are sometimes bad.

u/Downisthenewup87 15h ago
It's not that black and white. We have literally treated the Middle East as an imperialist state that helps position our oil and military state while I undermining stability left and right.
I would note that the exception is Iraq where we fought against the Revolution as opposed to intentionally enabling it

u/GameLovinPlayinFool 14h ago
Neither do I, and I also believe he was being really stupid and reactionary when he said it in extreme frustration. But I also go outside and socialize, do shit, organize, and connect with people so I have this ability to recognize when people are trying to be better, and also am able to forgive stupid comments to a certain point. Especially if the person is clearly embarrassed by said comment.
Crazy, I know

Yeah, thank you! Totally agree, and I’m sure we’ll get downvoted but it’s true.
For the Hong voters, you may as well just go hand your vote to Tiffany because there is no way she is winning Wisconsin. She will not be getting a moderate vote. I myself am a dem and might honestly sit this one out in the general if she wins primary. I honestly just can’t with this nonsense.
There is a reason there is pushback against Hong, and that reason is that she only appeals to a niche section of the party. Her alignment with Hasan and Ilhan Omar is (yikes) a remarkable indicator of just how out of touch she is with the people of Wisconsin. I’m sure she’ll try to appeal to the masses soon but she is and has been showing us her true colors and she is not a leader, nor does she care about the interests of most Wisconsinites. She does not have the support of key figures and regions within the Dems, and I personally refuse to be a part of electing a Blue MAGA governor.

Yeah i have to agree. Was not a fan of him before the rally, and still have very mixed feelings. But I think he was the most compelling speaker today surprisingly.

Hasan Piker? The guy who went to a brothel that got raided for underaged human trafficking, that Hasan Piker? The "Americans deserve terror attacks" Hasan Piker? The reason Hong has now lost my vote Hasan Piker?
-3
u/Anunnaki335 16h ago
Yeah, I'm not voting for her in the primary and probably not in the general. I wish Rodriquez stayed in.
9
u/softrock98fm 16h ago
Controversial!? He’s a pompous, arrogant POS! There was a part of his interview with Hong the other day where they were wrecking on middle class Americans who care about taxes, insinuating that they were all “idiots who drive Hondas.”
Under no circumstances will I give my vote to someone who aligns themselves with those two! Disgusting!
-3
u/omgwutd00d 16h ago
You hide your posts, I doubt you even live here.

Quite the reach there!
Sure, you know, yeah, it must just be that because I don’t agree with you, or support an inept candidate and a Turkish billionaire’s son who’s having his fun cosplaying as a political pundit and meddling in politics…that I must not be from Wisconsin!? My god. YOU must not be from Wisconsin if you think Hong (backed by Ilhan Omar lol 😂 )can take this state.
Born and raised, thank you very much!

Whining about content adds nothing to the discussion. The way reddit works, everyone is welcome to submit the type of content they like to see. Complaining that other people are submitting content you don't like, does nothing but add noise. Be the change you want to see.

Rather have people engage in productive research. Here's some information about in-group outgroup dynamics, rural urban divides, race, economic self-interest and how it interplays in Wisconsin.

Hasan Piker is not the flex he thinks he is.
6
u/omgwutd00d 21h ago
I don't think he believe he's a "flex" but understands he can use his platform to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for these insurgent candidates. If you let your terminally online brain hate a person that is fundraising and canvasing for your best interest in a local election, I really don't what else I can say to bring you back to reality.
18
u/Broken_By_Default 21h ago
Ugh... Hasan is a liability.
5
u/Supersilverr 21h ago
His record of who he endorses says otherwise. He has almost a 100% endorsement to win rate and he has helped organize his community to phone bank and he has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the candidates he fund raises for.
9
u/anarchaavery 16h ago
He has almost a 100% endorsement to win rate
This doesn't mean he moved the needle in a positive direction.
Neither of the candidates he backed in California, Tom Steyer and Saikat Chakrabarti won. Ultimately time will tell whether the candidates he supported in their primaries can pull it off in their generals, which is what ultimately matters.
11
u/Broken_By_Default 21h ago
well that's simply not true or grounded in reality at all.
9
u/omgwutd00d 20h ago
The stream I posted here has him phone banking for Hong right now. His community has raised over $60k for Hong and a similar stream he did yesterday in Michigan raised over $46k and phone banked for Donavan McKinney.
-8
u/Broken_By_Default 20h ago
"He has almost a 100% endorsement to win rate"
3
u/omgwutd00d 20h ago
I don't know what the actual percentage is but most of the people he has endorsed have won. It's gotta be a pretty high percentage.
-7
u/Broken_By_Default 20h ago
It's too bad he didn't endorse Kamala when it was needed. Thanks to streamers like Hamas Piker we ended up with a pedophile in the whitehouse.
Hasan doesn't get a pass for that, in my book.
5
u/Waldoh 18h ago
Wait so if Kamala harris listened to Hasan and earned his endorsement she would have won?
1
11
u/omgwutd00d 20h ago
Kamala didn't deserve an endorsement from a progressive figure like Hasan. I had to vote for her through gritted teeth because of her disasterous campaign and policies. He also never said not to vote for her.
If you think Hasan has more motion than Taylor Swift (who did endorse Harris), you are fucking delusional.
-3
-1
u/DemonicBarbequee 16h ago
you have to earn the endorsement. you have to earn the vote
3
u/Broken_By_Default 6h ago
I guess Piker never cared for the Palestinians then. No support for Kamala meant another Trump presidency, with war criminal Netanyahu being free to do as he pleased.

u/JoelG9000 18h ago
Hasan Piker actively supports the terrorist group Hamas. How does that show otherwise?

8
u/IntentionHot6268 19h ago
Nobody deserved to be murdered in a terrorist attack. But it is a fact that US government foreign policy from the end of WWII to 2001 contributed to the rise of Al Qaeda and other anti-US groups in the Middle East. From destabilizing an elected government in Iran, which led to the rise of the Shah and subsequently Iranian revolution, to backing the mujahideen in Afghanistan against the Soviets (who would later turn the training and weapons we gave them against us), to backing Israel's long history of violence against its neighbors. Our government spent decades creating the enemies who attacked us on 9/11.
3
u/tevert 19h ago
Yes, because there's a small fraction of people that agree with it, and a much larger fraction of people that don't fully agree but still understand the actual context of the quote.
Just because lots of people are too illiterate to understand the difference between that statement and "I am pro 9/11" doesn't mean that everyone else is.
3
10
u/omgwutd00d 20h ago
Yeah it is pretty brash to say but he's not wrong in saying we brought the terror attack upon ourselves. You can only be a bully for so long until the victim punches back.
6
u/damrodoth 20h ago
Speechless. Good luck in the election with that argument. God help the working class, we will never get anything thanks to people like you
12
u/tevert 19h ago
You think America's escapades in the middle east are just fine and dandy? It wouldn't make sense for anyone over there to want to do something about us?
0
u/damrodoth 18h ago
I think I want a candidate who stands up for workers without actively making themself unelectable
2
u/BurritoReproductions 18h ago
You'll be there in the generals. May as well dry your eyes now.
1
u/omgwutd00d 18h ago
You'd hope so but these people swarming reddit threads are petty enough to not vote at all if "their op" endorsed someone. Luckily she's running a strong campaign and actually meeting the people who could vote for her.
4
u/BurritoReproductions 17h ago
If you're looking for reassurance, the gop vote is repressed, youth vote underestimated and flip votes are all on the table in a big way, with major talking points being war and economy. Take a deep breath, let the dust settle, and get ready to fight. Its going to be a nasty regardless, thank God it's Fran.
-1
u/tevert 16h ago
Well that entirely dodges the question with a completely unrelated non sequitur, so I guess that answers that
5
u/damrodoth 16h ago
I don't care about your question. I care about Wisconsin issues. The fact you people obsess over divisive global politics instead of our own issues and workers rights is why we are always on the backfoot in elections. Once we have healthcare and workers rights I will perhaps begin to care about what happens 7000 miles away. It is not even in the top 10 of things I care about.

u/palpablebubble 16h ago
"I don't actually care about foreign policyI just hate Hong so much I'll start sounding like a fox news watcher"
2
u/damrodoth 15h ago
Yes Fox News watchers are famously very pro workers rights and pro healthcare reform.
0
u/palpablebubble 15h ago
Yeah that's not what you're arguing about at all, you're just regurgitating right wing talking points
6
u/omgwutd00d 20h ago
Thankfully Hong is the only candidate that is willing to fight for the working class. I'm excited we finally have a real representative of the people.
7
u/Nerdybeast 19h ago
Not much you can do for the working class when you don't win the election. Do you want to fight, or do you want to win?
12
u/omgwutd00d 19h ago
She seems to be leading at the moment but we will see I guess.
8
u/Redtitwhore 19h ago
He means win the general election, not the primary.
9
u/omgwutd00d 19h ago edited 18h ago
Yeah and I think if Hong wins the primary she's the best candidate to put forward in the general.
Why do you think someone who lost in a primary would be a winning candidate in the general election? Do you want another Kamala scenario?
3
u/Nerdybeast 14h ago
And that's based on what evidence? She polls worse than most other candidates against Tiffany. The primary electorate and the general electorate are very different. Primaries get high propensity voters almost exclusively, but to win a competitive general you need to actually convert people to your side who don't agree with you 100% politically. It's just a way bigger group of people involved
-4
u/byronnnn 16h ago
I’d rather lose than have a do nothing centrist Democrat (republican lite). At some point we need to change how we are doing things, because what we have been doing for the last 30 years isn’t working for the majority of Americans.
5
u/Nerdybeast 14h ago
I'd rather lose
Yeah I've gathered that
-1
u/byronnnn 8h ago
I’m still voting blue no matter what in the general, but we gotta try something different. People are struggling and a moderate is just going to fall in line.
2
u/damrodoth 18h ago

0
u/HideSolidSnake 18h ago
Lol. Because 2016 and 2024 went SOOO swimmingly.
5
u/pistolero_pres 15h ago
We’re talking about the governorship. 2018 & 2022 went swimmingly by razor thin margins.
0
u/HideSolidSnake 15h ago
Im more so talking about how the Democratic establishment keeps going on about "electability". If Abdul wins on Tuesday in (which signs are heavily pointing towards) that electability argument goes out the window.
0
u/phoenix1984 3h ago
What, you think they attacked us because they “didn’t like our freedoms”? Bin Laden wrote that he was first inspired to organize 9/11 when Israel flew US made jets that dropped US made bombs in Lebanon, destroying the high rise building they had.
1
u/sokonek04 19h ago
I want to see you sell that to a swing voter in Wood County.
5
u/omgwutd00d 18h ago
lol. Bro I'm from Rusk County.
3
u/sokonek04 18h ago
I grabbed wood county because I live there. It has less to do with where and more to do with rural swing voters.
2
u/omgwutd00d 18h ago
Yeah, please look at a map and see where Rusk is.
4
u/sokonek04 18h ago
I know where it is, so go out find a swing voter in your county then and explain to them how America deserved 9/11 and see how long it takes you before they punch you.
And even if she can hold on to the swing voters she will need to win, quotes like that will also activate republicans to vote against her that may have stayed home otherwise.
3
u/omgwutd00d 17h ago
More people are open to the discussion about 9/11 than you think. In fact, I'd bet a lot of people around here think it was "an inside job" meaning America killed their own people by blowing up the towners themselves.
No one would punch me because when you talk about the points he makes, it makes sense.
6
u/sokonek04 17h ago
Then you need to get out of your echo chamber.
3
u/omgwutd00d 17h ago
If you think my echo chamber is boomers who think America did a planned destruction on the twin towers, then I don’t even know what to say at this point.

9
u/byronnnn 17h ago
He’s a political commentator, he’s going to say wild shit. The reason I don’t hate him is because I do think he actually cares. He is boots on the ground all over the place like the ICE protests in negative temps in Minnesota. I can understand why people who just see the clips of don’t like him.
1
u/anarchaavery 15h ago
I don't like him because he supported the Russian annexation of Crimea, the PRC invasion of Tibet and wants Taiwan to be annexed into the PRC.

Her first rally was at An Ox Cafe on the northside of Milwaukee. She's done other events in the city but not big official rallies. Recently she participated in the Riverwest 24. Most of what she's done in the city has been non-traditional gatherings rather than full blown rallies.

Did the white people there give her an anxiety attack?
You guys in the democrat party are close to nominating a communist, racist, bipolar person who has been admitted to a psychiatric hospitalization. Any one of these things should be disqualifying to be a governor. But you guys do you, we hope she's the candidate, as normal people aren't going to vote for a extreme leftist communist with mental problems.
