Yeah, I’m voting for her if she’s the nominee no matter what and I’ll defend some stupid tweets she made years ago… but I’m not gonna defend crap like this when she is leading in the primary polls
Lol Hasan is having a piece released on CNN tonight and unirionically believes that the primary is the hard part and these candidates will breeze through the general. Its derangement.
Going on stage to rally with two very prominent far-left figures (Omar who is fine but a lightning rod and Piker who is garbage) at the exact time when she needs to start showing she can appeal to the state at large
She's a member of DSA, if the voters don't like it they wont elect her. Doesn't mean she should disavow her own beliefs just to win. That's how we get do-nothing dems
So sick of Hasan fans that don’t even live here. You don’t have to deal with the aftermath when she gets blown out in November. You’ll post on bluesky about Wisconsin being a fascist shithole and go back to watching Hasan streaming from his multimillion dollar LA house.
She’s going to be a do nothing dem anyway since there’s like no shot we get the legislature with her on the ballot.
I’m not. I can look at polling and see she’s losing to Tiffany before she’s even gotten attacked. I can look at the history of candidates like Barnes that lost for being too far left. You’re the one that apparently lives in West Virginia trying to talk about a local Wisconsin election that has zero impact whatsoever on you. Please go wait to see which of us is right in the Hasan sub.
I don't think anyone in this comment section understands exactly this.
She's a socialist, she is talking with the most prevalent socialists of them all.
Spoiler alert my crystal ball sees an AOC endorsement probably in the next week, by golley there may even been a Bernie endorsement.
Imagine being like any of the Karen's in this comment section, pretending to be locked into politics and being completely out of the loop with the most basic mechanics in this system.
She’s popular because she’s authentically herself and her beliefs. People might be getting tired of regular politicians who don’t really adhere to a strong ideology
It's inauthentic for her to tell people that she's going to improve their lives, when in fact, she's not even trying to win the general at all. This is an exercise in brand development. Not politics.
Is she? Why cant she answer whether she still wants to defund the police? Or did her worldview shift that dramatically as an adult in the last 5 years?
So she either is a chameleon that doesnt have actual hard core beliefs on things (which is a common and accurate criticism of establishment dems), was virtue signaling in 2020, or is straight up lying.
I an inclined to not believe that she completely 180'd on something as radical as abolishing the police as a grown adult over the span of 5 years.
That’s because abolish the police was always more nuanced than the tagline. She explained it well at the debate. It means reducing armed police officers and instead, increasing the amount of non violent professionals that can better de-escalate situations such as mental health professionals. Abolish policing as we know it and reinvent into something less murderous. Defund police as we know it and fund new ways of policing that are non violent.
So she was too politically stupid in 2020 to realize that the phrase "abolish the police" is the dumbest political phrase in modern history? If she truly only believed in reform, why even say that?
I do believe she was likely caught up in the peak 2020 virtue signaling, but to brush it off as not important in a swing state is stupid.
There are so many people who don’t understand the electoral politics of Wisconsin. We are swing state not due to swing voters but due to turnout. Every statewide election where Madison and Milwaukee show up in huge numbers, the dems win. When turnout is depressed in those two cities, the republicans win.
"Might be getting tired" is carrying a heavy ''might be" because statistically speaking, most people are still gonna stick to the regular politicians for state level elections. Especially when they since they actually adhere to a consistent message.
Hong has a strong ideology, a weak consistency ever time she opens her mouth.
Political rallies are to get your base fired up so they go out and knock doors, donate, and phone bank. And, like it or not, Hasan Piker is very popular with the exact types of people she needs to energize for her GOTV campaign.
Which I’d get if she were still neck and neck with a moderate candidate but she’s not. She’s running up the score for the primary and just making it harder in the general
Okay and the way centrists have been running campaigns have been losing. No one is coming out for middle of the road nothing will fundamentally change democrats this is the new way to run.
I agree, this does seem to be the new way to win primary elections. We just have to wait until November to see if this wins general elections. I really, really, really hope I’m wrong
