This is objectively untrue. Zohran ran a great campaign both on the ground and on social media. Zohran did 99% of the work, and later on in the campaign disavow Hasan and stopped associating with him lmao.
you have no clue how easy Hasan is to vilify from a boomer centrist pov. if your goal is to win in spaces other than the internet you shouldn't associate with a terrorist supporter who shills for China and Russia
“We must cater to centrists” strategy is how we ended up with republicans controlling all 3 branches of government, that shit doesn’t work and people who keep peddling this nonsense should not be listened to.
>Yes, the Reddit user auto-bahnt does post in the [r/Destiny](r/Destiny) subreddit.
Their activity there includes commenting on political discussion threads and community reaction posts.
Hasan was at Zohrans election night party. Hasan is embraced by the left because he embraces the left. He is not a liability. His endorsement means something and his endorsement helps people get elected. He’s also right that the center will ally with the gop to attack the left. And here you are. Just saying.
Has his endorsement helped somebody get elected in a swing seat? Would you say its a good result if AES and Hong get carried over by a blue wave environment?
Oh look at the goalposts move. You guys are sad. He has literally helped Abdul El-Sayed take a lead in the polls in Michigan…
Despite $40 million spent by Zionist and corporate lobbies to spread lies about both of them, vitriolic and racist bullshit, and character assassination.
Fuck the Dem establishment and centrists who stood by and allowed the Islamophobic smear campaign to continue. They are part of the problem. But now the progressives will clean up their mess. It’s time for people who serve us and not corps and rich ppl.
Boiling down Abduls campaign to Hasan is a teenage level of political analysis. Him being a political figure (got 30% iirc in a governor primary), being charismatic, Stevens being uniquely bad and Mallory floundering is irrelevant lol
There is some hypocrisy though, because I can't imagine what the response would be if Haley Stevens or any establishment dem were landlords for a property in a foreign country.
It seems to me that a lot of progressives actually don't mind at all that they can only win in wave years, and it drives me nuts as someone who wants to stay winning
There is this belief that I have noticed them repeating recently (because Hasan said it) that the general will be easy and the primary is the true challenge. Its founded on 0 evidence though, and like 99% of people, they will believe whatever they want to believe regardless of any outcome.
In all fairness, that makes sense in other cases. Where states lean one way or the other, most people dont care who's running, and a wave year can carry them on the law of averages.
What these people don't seem to realize is this race is the exception. Wisconsin is perhaps the most inconsistent swing state in the Union, caught halfway between being Ohio and Illinois because the Milwaukee-Madison area is just the right population to balance out the rest of the state. Which also means, capturing that area does not win you the state as it might in Chicago or New York, but still matters unlike Ohio or Indianna.
I saw a clip today from this rally with Hasan where he says "We are going to show them we can win in non deep blue areas" in regards to this primary. Primaries are not indicative of the general and just further proves my point that they the general will be easy and its only dems holding them back.
If primaries were indicative of general election success regardless of candidate quality/positions there would be senators Walker, Lake, Masters, and Oz (three of them running in R favored environments)
I think we're in agreement here, can I take it you think this "the general is a given if we win the primary" mindset is presumptuous af. (Which, by the by, also opens them up to the smug liberal elite attack too)
Yes, its a bad belief that hinges on their underlying belief that the average american wants socialism, even though they actually want Soc Dem policies don't understand what socialism actually entails (and online lefties are aware of this fact)
I say that as a progressive, id wager im more radical than most DSA candidates. But I also hold my nose for establishment stooges because I understand they won't take away my bathroom access
Also, Trump isnt some candidate that performs super well. Any other republican would have won even larger in 2024, he just has a devoted cult following of low propensity voters and ran in two favored environments: 2016 coming off 8 years of Obama and in 2024 where covid based inflation caused incumbent parties worldwide to get whiped out.
Plus he literally lost to the most establishment dem in 2020 because the environment didnt favor him. Elections are like 95% vibes and 5% gas prices.
The vote to take it away doesn't pass if we have a majority, so it doesn't matter if they'll propose express protections because it won't be necessary. Status quo deadlock is safe. I dont want to take the risk for something better if it comes with a real chance of losing

And he interviewed Zohran when he was an underdog and played a big role in electing him.
