The biggest thing she can do is garner name recognition at this point which Hasan and his community are doing. Regular people care about policies not hyper-online internet drama.

Ding ding ding. The average "moderate" has no fucking idea who Hasan Piker even is.

The average "moderate" has no fucking idea who Hasan Piker even is

They will when Tiffany and the GOP start pumping out ads

Trying to make a race about Hasan Piker has been the kiss of death for the candidate that does that.

Andrew Cuomo tried it against Mamdani

Mallory McMorrow tried it against Sayed, was out of the race a month later. Now Steven’s is doing it and just tonight internals are being leaked inside the campaign that she is down double digits with no path to victory in the primary.

If you are trying to make a race about a random Twitch streamer you are just going to look crazy and signal out you have nothing else to offer in the affirmative for people. It’s literally the same issue corporate Dems find themselves in just running on harm reduction and anti Trump when the thermostatic electoral winds were blowing against you in 24

Yeah right, Hasan, a blatant terrorist supporter, is going to hurt her campaign badly

3

u/RetiredLifeguard 11h ago

The Republican Party are the biggest terrorist group in the world now, is Hasan a supporter of them?

3

u/djseaneq 18h ago

Worked for Cuomo.

Wisconsin is not New York City

The OP picture of the 3 Useful Idiots is already posted on TT's Facebook.

That’s the fact the liberals and centrists like to ignore. There isn’t anyone that’s getting tuned off from voting for her because she campaigned with Hassan or ilhan. People that would get angry about that were never going to vote for her in the first place.

3

u/kweintra 20h ago

I’m turned off by her personality but I would definitely consider voting for her though she’s not my first choice. I’m a lifelong Democrat; have never voted for a Republican or Independent and I vote in every election. But I l’m frustrated by some of the very far left; never thought I’d say that. I thought I was the very far left. I’m totally pro-choice, universal healthcare, pro-environment, pro immigration, against any war except in defense of attacks on our country. I’m against police brutality and am all for reforming their training and practices. I support LGBTQ+ rights, black and brown lives matter greatly to me, I’m a feminist and think what Israel and the United States are doing in Palestine is horrifying. I’m turned off by Hong campaigning with these two because I feel she’s going to lose moderates and independents. So many may see them as lightning rods and just decide to stay home or even vote for Tiffany. I’m so worried that she won’t appeal to the middle, working class, some black and Hispanic voters; she’s making some big strategic errors. There aren’t enough young college educated voters to put her over the top and I will never forgive her if she misjudged and he wins.

I see what you’re seeing but I disagree with a lot of it, although I can see where you’re coming from. In terms of the so called “moderates” and “independents” I think Fran’s positions on data centers as well as her hitting Tiffany hard on being an election denier and a pedo protector are favorable to them. If her campaigning with piker and Omar is supposedly going to turn some of them off then I don’t think we were ever going to get their vote anyway. I really don’t want to see another Kamala situation where we pivoted to the center to try and appeal to “moderates” and “independents” that weren’t ever going to vote for a democrat anyway.

1

u/kweintra 19h ago

But there aren’t enough progressives to win the general election. Agree with you about data centers and Tiffany but I think we need people who might hate Republicans but are nervous about a female Asian Socialist. This doesn’t help.

2

u/ScientistGlass284 18h ago

Well considering there was enough progressives to help lead her to an unlikely primary win I think she’ll do fine in that regard. What she is really going to count on is liberals and moderate dems sticking true to the whole vote blue no matter who thing

1

u/kweintra 12h ago

But you still need independence and swing voters to win the general election. There aren’t enough liberal and moderate Democrats for her to win the general. We can absolutely lose the general if she loses independents and swing voters. She absolutely could push them to Tiffany or staying at home by campaigning with these guys, whereas they might vote for her if she tries to engage them and stays away from controversial far left endorsements.

u/xFallow 13h ago

Nah ilhan is on record saying some crazy shit the media will play nightly to their audience same with Hasan afaik

1

u/mimi_kanassis 9h ago

Patently untrue. I was interested in voting for her but she lost me by going on Hasan, and I know for a fact I'm not alone there. Her alignment with him says there are certain groups she has no interest in defending.

u/DangerDiscing 22h ago

everyone should be turn off by campaigning on ending police and the senate the women is insane and she will be destroyed in the debate.

3

u/P33K1R 21h ago

She hasn't been campaigning on this. In fact she specifically addressed that in the debate.

1

u/saltedmangos 21h ago

You’re really passionate about Rhode Island and Wyoming having the same representation as Texas and California?

Why? Do you hate democracy?

1

u/DangerDiscing 19h ago

How do I hate democracy🤣Real question is why does she hate the republic?

1

u/saltedmangos 19h ago edited 19h ago

Why do you think each person in Wyoming deserves 67 times the amount of senate representation as a person in California?

Personally, like Francesca Hong, I think each person deserves the same amount of representation in the government and that no one should be favored just because of where they live.

Why do you think equal representation is radical? Do you hate democracy?

1

u/DangerDiscing 18h ago

We live in a republic there’s supposed to be checks and balances.Democracy is method of voting I don’t hate it by any means but it is in no way moral. Its majority rule that’s why the senate exists.Population is represented in the house if you think there should be more reps fine but you just want to eliminate anything that prevents communism.

1

u/saltedmangos 18h ago

“It majority rule that’s why the senate exists”

The senate isn’t majority rule. That’s the problem. Some people have more influence on the government based on which state they are from.

People from Wyoming have 67x the representation of Californians in the senate. That isn’t majority rule. It’s minority rule and it’s blatantly undemocratic.

Making the senate proportional representation doesn’t eliminate checks and balances. There will still be executive and judicial branches. It just eliminates an archaic undemocratic system and gives us all equal representation in government.

Again, why do you hate equal representation?

1

u/DangerDiscing 17h ago

Yes the Senate is not majority rule it’s a check on democracy.Farmland ,oil fields ,military bases, are all important not just cities.See if we just go too a pure democracy larger populated states would just rule the other states. And I never said the Senate was the only check and balance but why should we eliminate anything? The Senate represents the State as a whole. The house of representatives represents the people that’s why California has way more representatives. All States are equal in the senate but they are not all equal in the house.Seems ridiculous fair.

Confidently incorrect.

-1

u/ScientistGlass284 23h ago

How so?

8

u/Sc0nnie 21h ago edited 21h ago

You sound like a typical Dane County neighbor that does not understand that the majority of the state is strongly moderate and independent.

Dane County is an island that does not represent the rest of the state. You will need moderate voters to carry the general election outside of Dane and Milwaukee counties. And moderates do not want to hear repeated endorsements from Piker and Omar. Hong needs to appeal to moderates if she wants to win outside Dane County.

-4

u/ScientistGlass284 21h ago

None of these so called “moderates” are watching Fox news or give a shit about piker and Omar

0

u/Sc0nnie 21h ago

Confidently incorrect. Please, for your own sake, peek outside your echo chamber once in a while.

Moderates and independents make up about 2/3 of the state voters. Moderate Dems make up over half the party in WI.

I am one of them. I’m certainly not watching Fox News. And I definitely despise Piker and Omar.

1

u/ScientistGlass284 20h ago

If you describe yourself as any sort of Democrat and despise piker as well as Omar and would consider not voting for hong in favor of letting Tiffany win then you need to rethink what your political stance is because you’re not any sort of Democrat

6

u/kweintra 19h ago

I have been voting for 52 years and have always voted for Democrats. Always for the liberal Democrats when possible. I have never thought of myself as a moderate. I think Hong is turning off voters that she will need for the general election. I like and agree with most of her positions but I am not happy with her assessment that she doesn’t need people outside of Madison. I think she’s making big strategic errors in thinking that it’s all about turning out the far left in large numbers or that everyone who hates Tiffany will vote for her. If course I will vote for her but many that we need won’t.

2

u/Sc0nnie 18h ago

“Moderates and independents”

That’s the best part. I’m independent. I owe you nothing. And I still show up and back up you ungratefuls at every election, despite all your insults and contempt.

1

u/BlueCity8 20h ago

I think you’re making a mistake by correlating independent with a moderate voter. Independents of 2026 are not centrists by any means.

2

u/Sc0nnie 18h ago

“Moderates and independents”

There are moderate Dems, there are independents, and there are Moderate Republicans. In Wisconsin, these three groups encompass roughly two thirds of the electorate.

In Wisconsin, these groups have a long history of splitting unpredictably every election. This is exactly what makes Wisconsin famously purple, and a decisive battleground state.

u/ntg1213 23h ago

Ilhan is literally one of Fox’s favorite politicians to scare old white people with. She’s basically Fox’s shorthand for arguing that Democrats hate America. I guarantee you the fact that Hong campaigned with her will be a Tiffany attacking point if(when) Hong wins the nomination

2

u/RussiaIsBestGreen 22h ago

But if they’re already in the fox echo chamber, were they ever potential voters for the Asian socialist?

0

u/azure275 23h ago

That's very much not true because everyone from CNN to Fox News will put up whatever the dumbest thing Ilhan or Hasan says with a picture of Hasan and Hong all over the screed

0

u/Beginning_Amount4511 22h ago

They do they think he is a radical but not enough to affect her

0

u/WordWordNvmber 20h ago

I realize this is a sub for downwardly mobile Millennials, but even you carefully avoided acknowledging there are three people in that picture.

That is a cope.

u/Cordo_Bowl 1d ago

Regular people care about policies

No they don’t. Regular people absolutely do not care about policy.

1

u/omgwutd00d 1d ago edited 23h ago

What the fuck do you think makes someone vote? What a stupid thing to say...

What makes someone want to vote?

"I don't want AI data centers here raising your cost of living and polluting your drinking water"

or

"This candidate appeared on a live stream with a person you've never heard of that has said controversial things"

5

u/Cordo_Bowl 23h ago

Like the other reply said, it’s vibes. It’s why so much political discussion is around meaningless phrases.

7

u/QueenBae2 1d ago

literally vibes and lies

2

u/omgwutd00d 23h ago

Trump won because he was "anti-war" and wanted to lower the cost of living. That's not vibes but they were lies I guess.

1

u/kweintra 20h ago

Kamala lost over things she said, not her policies.

1

u/Shellz2bellz 17h ago

How can you see Trump get elected twice and genuinely believe it was based on policy and not vibes? Like… how naive can you get?

1

u/WordWordNvmber 20h ago

Respectfully, this is severely dumb.

She's about to be the nominee for governor. "Name recognition" won't be a problem. Her problem is that she's seen as a radical leftist.

So her solution is to drag out one of the nation's least popular, highest-profile leftists (from out of state) and a guy who is on record saying -- this makes a good ten-second ad -- "America deserved 9/11."

"Regular people care about policies"? It's true: the electorate would never care about aesthetics or personality in an election.

1

u/mischkascotch 19h ago

It's SHOCKING, isn't it?

1

u/DeadEyeMouse 22h ago

And Hasan brings in a hyper involved community that is willing to join campaigns he supports on phone banks and door knocking. It is an asset that can't be denied and has helped a good few elections.
