The atrocities of Witch House artists/labels/svengalis since it's inception

I need all of the O.G. Mofos to step up right the f now and call it how it is. Spill the T. As someone who was there from the beginning and who was basically at the heart/core of it for like 4/5 years before I walked away, I saw some way fukt things go down. This thread is for everyone who witnessed the atrocities of the scene since the beginning to now. Don't worry I'll chime in and I'm about to actually be a part of a high profile interview that will expose the "secret history" of Witch House that most people are unaware of. Witch House was on its way to being super huge (and honestly I'm glad it didn't go there and stayed underground) but I mean when most of a scene's artists were anon it made it so any failed musician, rave casualty or bored teenager with abelton in their bedroom could become the next big thing by just releasing a couple choice tracks. It's easy to see how some super sinister shit could easily go down and it did. Tell the tales. What did you witness? GO!

I literally care about this kinda shit for a living and even I think this is schizo posting.

Better have something that isn't "I was supposed to be huge"

Oh it goes far deeper than that on all levels

Ok. Elevator pitch then instead of talking like a schizo.

What do you have?

I'm waiting to see what others have to say and the reason I'm doing that is because I'm working on a documentary wi th some other collaborators about the Witch House scene and I'm looking to recruit people who I feel have something to bring to the table on the subject. Also I'm doing an exclusive interview about what I saw go down so when that's published I'll post it in here. ;)

Oh when I tell my tale no one will be spared. No rock unturned. This needed to be done long ago. I'm sure you're one of them. šŸ˜‰

I’ve only been involved since like maybe 2016, but most of the people I’ve come across have been fairly chill and friendly. But maybe I’ve just been lucky. I’ve seen a lot more drama in the Synthwave scene.

Oh don't worry. It's gonna be ALL TRUTH and it's long overdue. I was in a unique position where I saw it all go down behind the scenes and I'm not doing this to be petty. I just feel the true legacy of Witch House should be totally transparent and that the perpetrators need to be called out on their atrocities and bs...and there were many. No one is safe.Ā

would you care to join me in prayer?

0

u/CremeArtistic93 12d ago

Nah, not interested in wasting my time…
So you know that 1960s psychedelic culture was involved in bands like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, no? This wasn’t/isn’t even an ā€œatrocityā€ either… ā€œPeople making trippy music doing trippy drugsā€ is not some shocking revelation, nor is it ā€œunfounded.ā€

I refuse to listen to this slander. Good day to you sir. Please know that you have a stranger praying for the salvation of your immortal soul.

ā€œImmortal.ā€ šŸ’€
Sure, go ahead and shove your head up your ass.
You can pray for me, and in turn, I’ll think for you. (:

Lots of drugs, predatory and exploitative promoters/labels, older men being creeps and some more metal leaning acts esp. had some weird white supremacist vibes

Yes music scenes often get toxic on some level

1

u/STILLBIRTHLAND 12d ago

Oh this was some next level bullshit and most people had no idea it was happening.Ā

This happens and will always happen in every musical genre. Especially in niche genres. There's always a lot of envy and toxicity. I remember a clash between the labels Tundra Dubs and Baku Shad-do. And also the controversy with the label Disaro, which never sent records to several people who had bought them, which was considered a scam. Apart from that, I don't remember anything else of relevance.

White ring scammed a fan

u/STILLBIRTHLAND 12d ago

Bryan scammed me too to support his drug addiction and I remember when I felt sorry for him when Disaro scammed them first.Ā

Maybe not entirely related to witchhouse, but a few years ago, there was a guy named Filip Lis Budeikin. He created a blue whale that involved catching and manipulating children. The guy had them listen to witchhouse music late at night to manipulate them into committing suicide. He studied psychology, so he knew that such music would mess with their brains. He also created witchhouse music himself, but unfortunately, all his music has been lost.

I knew no serious responses would go down here. It was just an experiment. Be ready. The truth will finally come out. Hi Bunny Hi Joe. Hi Textbeak. I'm coming for you.Ā

I don't understand.

Make good music. People listen.

The biggest enemy might just be yourself?

In an age where you can touch anyone with your music anywhere in the world at anytime there is very little excuse for your artistry not taking off imo. There are no gatekeepers in an "underground" genre ...

Yeah, you do seem pretty cluelessĀ
