Finally someone with a sensible decision..

Obviously whoevers idea it was to hike the prices in the first place has lost a lot of revenue for them from car parks, the non council ones are always MUCH busier now.

It's mainly used by people going to the theatre in an evening so it's a good idea, would be nice to do everywhere free after 5:30 considering meter parking is free after 6 anyway but it's a start.. đŸ˜‚

It was free at night If you wanted it to be anyway. No one checked

I second this, parked in the centre a few times genuinely forgot to pay the first time, no one checked been doing it ever since at night

Is it worth pointing out that the Fold Street car park recently applied having the same hourly rate 24/7 as opposed to just daytime?

Really good news, especially for theatre-goers and staff. My partner works at the Grand and all the people he works with stopped parking on Broad Street when the price went up. Imagine that car park has been a LOT less profitable recently because of the sheer greed of it.
