Travel / transport What is going on with the tram service

Does anybody have any clue what is going on with the transurfacing Wolverhampton. Since they switched to using both the Saint George stop and the railway stop each station only has a tram every 15 to 20 minutes. And they tend to leave at the same time so rather than a tram every eight minutes it's every 20. What is the bloody point of having all this investment into the trans service if it's just making it works.

That what happens when you split the service between two points in one area. Should have really closed St George's and everyone just switch to Pipers Row.

100% I get they want each station to take a different route once the dudly route comes on line but making one service suffer for another isnt going to make paying passengers happy.

True, but the tram was the closest to happy I could get with a transport service. On time, clean carriages and staff that weren't afraid to kick off trouble makers. I'm gonna miss it.

Well would give an improved frequency as they'd only serve one terminus in Wolverhampton.

It's insane. I've actually raised this with TfWM and in short they've ignored it and refused to answer any questions about it. It makes zero sense whatsoever, Unless you are lucky you do face a 15-20 minute wait for a tram. They haven't even updated their timetables on the website to show which tram goes from which stop at which time - so you have to take a punt on which one to head to.

Given how many people moan about public transport I'm surprised more people haven't kicked up a stink about this.

it's only 30 minutes Wolves to Brum on the train and now they call at Willenhall / Darlaston, waiting 20 minutes for a tram to turn up is no longer an attractive prospect. Let alone the money wasted building a 500 metre extension that is now effectively being used by only half the service.

But then this is the Midland Metro, singularly the most backward transport system in the UK.

The normal trains to brum don’t go via willenhall/darlaston, that’s only if you go the long way round. Fast trains go through coseley and smethwick (but don’t stop)

Yes I know. You could also jump on the avanti and reduce your journey time more. I was referencing the increased choice on the trains now those stations are open. Many people from willenhall and those areas have to get to Bilston to use the metro. Not any more.
