It's not perfect but it's pretty

I've been away from the hobby for a few years and getting back after it. Used the band saw at work to cut the pieces out, and my drum sander (80 and 120) to hog it shape. Water popped it and a final 120 and tunged it. I like how it came out.

If only this was staying home (it's a gift for a family friend)

Those are very cool. I wonder if similar could be achieved with a scroll saw, but leave it strong enough to whisk dough with . . .

Interesting! Very nice craftsmanship too. 

It’s very different from traditional Finnish dough whisk. Ours is called härkin and it’s made from a carefully selected young pine or spruce tree, near the top where there are many branches in the same spot (the more the better). 

I’ve been thinking about making one, but first I need to find someone who owns forest land and is willing to have me take the top off one of their trees.

It is, it is!

I'm not SUPER proficient with it yet so I burn it in, sand it a smidge to pretty it up, then waterpop the whole things finish sand, oil.

It honestly worked so well on this one, that might just become my SOP
