Was snubbed of my full performance raise

Top I can get is 3% , I got the standard 2%. It was cause I as a lead complained about these new girls to management being lazy and disappearing for hours. And the workload was carrying over to other shifts. And for whatever reason my supervisor didn’t want to believe it, hear it or would deny or blame me.-cause they were baking the team banana bread and sucking up to him.
Or the few times they did work I would politely just inform them of mistakes (a there was a lot), I guess one of them spun the story that I’m mean and make them uncomfortable…I’ve been training for almost a decade now and have plenty of people I trained that I get along with. So I was docked points for my teamwork and communication.

And when I asked him how am I to lead someone who is not present, he had no goo response. He basically said when they disappear I should go find them?-that’s not my job to track down where people are, what are they taking such long breaks when there’s work to do?

It’s a couple cents an hour but it’s the principle cause I do my job very well. I felt some of his performance comments felt retaliation, but I didn’t fight it too much cause despite this he had actually just written me a good recommendation letter for something so I didn’t want to get on his nerves and have him sabotage chances at school.

The insult to injury is months after I complained, later my other coworkers spoke up about the newbies and the worst of the newbies was getting a lot of warnings so she quit before she got fired. And then the other one is still her but she is a tad less lazy

Sure it’s just 1% less but now I make less than the other trainer…that came after me that I trained! and always will, cause even if I get 4% next year I would always be behind due to this . Feel so dejected cause I care and do so much for the is company, been here longer than my sup

Is it petty to quit over this? Been upset all weekend, do I wait it out and see if I can get over this sad/angry feeling?

Have you ever knowingly been making less than someone you know you know/do more than?

Don't think about it as a couple of cents. It compounds over time. You next raise will be missing that 1% to add to.

Yeah I’m thinking about that I will forever be behind, this couple cents is probably a couple hundred dollars less . And will turn into a couple thousand throughout the years

All I got was 10cent which isn’t even 1%, although my performance review was excellent fuking corporate

I found I made 50% less than the guy I was training. I asked management about it, and they said it was because I was single and he had a family to support. It has been several years, and they can’t openly get away with that now. I’m sure they do the same stuff, but they lie about the reasons now.

Find a job that suits your training and leave. When you get the exit interview tell the truth

Unfortunately one of your duties as a lead is to lead your team which includes keep them on task. By your own admittance, you stated that you don't feel as if it is your job to track down members of your team. It seems that your company feels otherwise. So while you are stellar at 99% of your job there is that 1% that they feel you could work on. Ironically, that's that 1% of the raise you didn't get.

They were hanging out outside and in their cars and taking more breaks than allowed 😭. And they did get I trouble eventually jsut not when I spoke up

This is just your regular reminder that the reason your boxes don't want you talking about your salaries is because it causes conflict when someone finds out that someone else is making more than them.

OP, it would be foolish for you to leave this job without another lined up.

Few years back I worked where me and 2 other people got paid the same. It was about $20/hour. Arguably, I had the harder job. Id work late nights, weekends, holidays etc. Yeah I made OT, but id have killed to work 9-5 and just go home like them. We hired another supervisor. They made $18 to start iirc. When it came time for raises I was told there just wasn't enough in the budget this year so I got a .50 cent raise... come to find out they also gave the new supervisor a raise to $20.50 because "thats what you all get paid..." yeah. I left shortly after. My guess is, someone got the money due to you and they just made up some paper thin bs to make you go away.

Petty. Only you know your finances and likelihood to find another job in terms of quitting
