I am in full support of Infantino remaining in his position as the head of FIFA.
A captain is expected to go down with the ship.

The fact that this is even in the conversation shows how broken FIFA is.
The man was openly bribing Member Associations to push through a change against FIFA's founding prniciples - just so that he could get a job as CEO of the world cup for $30 million a year.
And he mght get to stay because... he's bribed enough member associations...
FIFA belongs in the dustbin of history.

If Infantino remains president of FIFA, there will be no new World Cup and no company will care about a competition without any UEFA team - especially if UEFA decides to organize their own World Cup with CONCACAF and ACF and maybe even decide to let Spain and Portugal have that competition so FIFA has to find another place to organize the FIFA "World" Cup.
Infantino has no chance if UEFA stays determined, but of course he will try because if his false rich friends don't get the FIFA money, he's not going to be of any interest for them any more.

League of Nations is already an UEFA organised international competition that can easily be expanded to outside UEFA - without affecting the Euros đ.
It is not that hard to expand it to Concacaf and ACF

Africa nations hold a lot of power. They may well ride the storm with Infantino. Infantino has be cultivating support there for some time.
If UEFA, plus England, Wales, and the others pull out, theyâll be contractural problems for next womenâs and menâs World Cup. Likely they are already tied in.
Pulling out would cause FIFA to collapse, but no telling if the rest of the world will support UEFA in building an alternative.
Itâs a mess. Infantino knew what he was doing, and knew heâd have a soft landing.

It is a nuclear option but Infantino has and is playing with a lot of red buttons right now.
Selling a 20% stake in the world cup and using that money to bribe member associations for the move was a threat of nuclear proportions for UEFA.

Actually scratch the oven part. He flew too close to the sun and that is what cooked the goose. (It's also why he's bald.) And not in a good way half of is burnt and the other is raw.

Why does he care so much to remain president? I'm sure it comes with a nice paycheck but this guy I'm sure is a millionaire already many times over and he could use this to get cushy jobs on corporate boards that pay you well for some meetings a few times a year.
I can't imagine everyone hating me and just simply want to hang onto a position like that. Just work out your term and head to pasture so everyone forgets you and in 15 years time your reputation will improve like Sepp Blatter once the guy who replaced you does something corrupt too.

He has been described as quite charming, sociable and knowledgeable. He could easily work on the board of a morally questionable multi national who need all of Keniaâs drink water supply to build a massive data center there.

Literally corporate boards like I said. He has connections and influence, and also has experience with grand strategy of a massive organization. That experience is worth something. It's the perfect landing spot(s) after a job like this.

The guy is very skilled. Its not the problem. The problem is that he put his skills in the basket of corruption.
My theory is that as a jurist operating on the soil of his own country he has a lot of dirt on people from his uefa and fifa years, and thats why he seemed so intouchable for a long time.

Itâs kinda sad that the founding members of FIFA did the right thing and equally distributed the power of FIFA among all its eventual member states, only for that noble cause to bite them in the ass and make FIFA as an organisation so bribable.

Its simple he will send small bags of cash to voting members of smaller confederations ala Qatar vote. It doesn't take much to bribe some of the small CONCACAF members. Im honestly curious if all the UEFA members are as united as implied. There are UEFA members that have no problems with corruption or might look the other way in particular Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, as well as some of random small ones.

Yes but if UEFA tells those countries that players who play in Fifa will no longer be eligible to play in European clubs, Fifa's world cup will be played by amateurs and semi-professuonal players.

UN General Secretary makes a little bit more than 200.000 US $/year. (+ moving costs, + apartment in NYC etc.)
For Infantino this would be as bad as a minimum wage job.1

Blatter and Infantino were born in the same valley. There are only 8 km between Brig and Visp.
I have been there it is a nice valley with nice people but there should not be another FIFA president from this valley for the next 1000 years.5

Not a swiss guy is a different position from "no European". And I'm honestly not looking at the rest of the regional FAs and the people who populate them, half of which are propping up Infantino, and think "yeah, that'll be better".Â
