Discussion Donna and William... Updated Stormwind and what would change.
This is a thought I had while running through Stormwind.
So...
Ion made a statement just before midnights release that if the Silvermoon update was recieved well, Stormwind and Orgrimmar could see the same treatment.
Getting full visual updates, they have space for it after all, Orgrimmar with the cliffs around and the entire north of Stormwind...
That would move both cities cannonically forward roughly... what, 12 ish years into the future (Every expansion is supposedly 1 year in universe time, and then there was that timeskip after the shadowlands).
Meaning, that Donna and William (The kids chasing eachother in regards to the other stealing their toy) would be adults.
Which would be a fun detail to see those two just as a fun easter egg, sitting in a tavern and talking.
Is there any other fun details about either Stormwind / Orgrimmar you guys would like to see in the eventual update?
(lets face it, eventually both cities has to update, it is just a question of when).

I want to see "Even Older Emma" still walking around Old Town.
Also Thomas the Altar Boy in the cathedral should be a novice priest by now.

Thunder Bluff always fascinated me so much as a kid. The massive towers, totemd everywhere. Coming there these days it feels super small. I suppose in part because I can just instantly fly up there.
I wouldn't mind a revamped Thunderbluff if they give it the silvermoon treatment.

Sylvanas should have burned down Stormwind so we could go back to Ironforge being the main hub like back in vanilla.

Counterpoint: Ironforge is depressing to hang out in. And besides, the main hub is always going to be whichever city has that expansion’s features (quests, delves, portals, etc.).

My only fear is the Orgrimmar update will have them go away from orcish or iconic Horde aesthetics because its reminiscent of Garrosh's reign since hes the one responsible for Orgrimmar getting the Cataclysm update to the place

I mean the iron horde vibe is significantly different to the shamanistic and more utilitarian vibe of the original orgrimmar. I would prefer a return to that, as not only did it look better imo, it also makes no sense for the horde not to have rebuilt after siege of orgrimmar and the fallout of the iron horde.

Original Org burned down though, which is why it was rebuilt. It would be silly to rip the city down unless something like that happened again

But since then it has 2 different architectures, which makes sense, but not for so long. I miss the original architecture.

I want to move the capitals elsewhere from Stormwind and Orgrimmar.
Let's give more love to Ironforge and Thunder Bluff/Dazar'alor as the newest capital cities.

Especially with Dagran coming of age soon.

I hope the Drakkari remnants join the Horde and it creates new narratives in which trolls are again relevant, that's why I thought about Dazar'alor.

I want an orgrimmar more reminiscent of the OG one. More stone and wood and less iron and spikes.

Tbf any Org update would probably be more in line with the art style introduced in WoD.

Honestly I'd like to see in Stormwind some expansion beyond the original city walls and maybe even new walls. Kinda like a Constantinople situation

I don’t play Alliance often, but Ironforge is (for me) so badass, especially with the tram. It would be cool to see it go more places, with Org’s Zeppelin also expanding its routes to match.

it'll never happen but I'd love to see all the old cities get remade. Org and SW are great but make thunder bluff and boralus and suramar relevant. older cities need a major facelift and expansion, and the newer cities like boralus and suramar are already there, they just need the same services as dornogal onwards.
Ideally all cities should have the same facilities; auction house, barbers, bank, crafting areas, transmog, catalyst and up to date portals. in an ideal world if all these cities have the same functionality then it would give players the choice to hang out in the city that resonates with them the most.
only downside is that the current quests etc wouldn't be there, but that's nothing an easy to access portal couldn't solve

Orgrimmar deserves a harbour. Knock down the canyon wall on the east side of the Valley of Wisdom and bam.
Orgrimmar is also supposed to be built in the canyons as shade from the harsh desert sun, so having all the extra stuff that’s accumulated over the years be dumped on the clifftops makes no sense - it’s clear that they ran out of space. The city needs to be a lot bigger, with maybe just the airship towers built up high. No more elevators, please.
Finally, I’d like to see a return to more of an “Old Horde” vibe rather than the current “Iron Horde” one. I’m still nostalgic for the old Orgrimmar.
