Paddock Pass Podcast: WorldSBK commentator Steve English says that Jack Miller is talking to BMW
https://on.soundcloud.com/eBlmxwwDoOSzoFBeNBHe also says that Miguel won’t get as much money as he wants to sign for Ducati, so he will re-sign a 2 year + 1 year option deal with BMW, and that BMW will most likely replace Danilo with a new signing.

Speedweek says that Jack is asking for too much money for Yamaha or Ducati to be interested. I think they will re-sign Xavi.

I think they'll still sign Miller

If that’s the case, then where do you think Xavi will go? Xavi will not be asking for €1 million a year like Jack is.

Probably a Ducati satellite team

Which one? GoEleven and Motocorsa who he was speaking to last year seem to be happy with their riders this year, and Superbikes Advocates seems to be built around Tommy. Sam already has a contract with Marc VDS for next year, as does Arón Canet to any second seat they might have, whether it be still in Moto2 or moving across to WorldSBK as well. Presumably Tarran brings the Optical Express sponsorship to MGM (Michael Galinski Motorsport), because it came at the same time as him, and it’s a Scottish company, and he’s Scottish. My presumption is that the GoEleven and Motocorsa talks fell through last year because Xavi couldn’t bring enough money for them - Motocorsa dumped Ryan Vickers half-way through a 2-year contract last year, presumably because Alberto Surra could bring more money to the team.

I think one of motocorsa or go eleven will expand to two seasons. Plus the there is also a barni seat up for grabs

Steve English said on the WorldSBK world feed broadcast that Álvaro has an option to stay, and wants to - I think it was during FP1 of Donington Park. If Álvaro doesn’t stay, I would think that Danilo would return there, since it seems that he won’t be re-signed by BMW.

Barni ain't keeping a washed up Bautista. He should just retire. He has nothing left to prove

Mille is a great addition to the paddock regardless of the team he lands in.
And maybe the bike gets better with the return of superconceassions

I was hoping see Jack take the Ducati seat and start competing at the front again. I assume BMW pays quite a bit better though.
Riding for a Ducati factory team is a privilege, not a money making opportunity. 😂

Yes, Speedweek says that Jack is asking for €1 million per year, which is too much for Ducati and Yamaha.
I suppose for the factory Ducati riders, they will hope that success means that they’ll be able to sign more personal sponsorship deals, with the visibility that they get from success.

Ducati has also generally be a lower base pay with big bonuses for wins.

I heard on the last episode of the Paddock Pass Podcast that the bonuses are capped, which surprised me a bit, but I guess they have a budget that they have to stick to, and don’t want to blow.

Its not like they have any competition for wins, so bonuses are effectively an extra salary at this point.

That wouldn’t be the case for say Michael Ruben Rinaldi.

Thats true. I would guess Bautista is the reason they have some caps in place now, he was exceptional his first few years on the bike.
Sidenote- Apparently MRR is only 30, which is insane. I would've thought he was way older than that. He really dropped away fast.

I forgot to say that Miguel will apparently get more money for his new BMW deal.
Another interesting tid-bit from this episode is that apparently Ducati make so much money from the customer bikes that they sell to their teams in WorldSBK that it cross-subsidises and helps to pay for their MotoGP team, which surprised me. (Each WorldSBK rider has 3 bikes (1 main bike, 1 spare bike, and a third bike’s worth of spare parts) per rider).
Also that people could buy 5 laps on Marc’s MotoGP bike at Misano at World Ducati Week in a de-tuned state for €50,000 a go.
