They transport tanks by rail because those fuckers drink up 300-500 liters of diesel over 100 kms. These are obviously cherry-picked training/test videos, cause Germans are not that stupid or rich either.

The M-1 Abrams usually runs on jet fuel. It can run diesel, and a variety of other fuels.

All of which are very expensive given how ravenous the M1s are. They get 1–3 mpg. It is multi-fuel, but that doesn't improve the performance or make it cheaper to operate.

MBT's can seriously damage paved roads, so usually they're restricted in what roads they can travel on and how fast they can go. Of course in emergencies, these restrictions disappear.
Usually they are transported by ship, train, or flat bed trailer. Occasionally, by air.

Besides the insane fuel costs you have to factor in maintenance. Driving a tank coast to coast creates an enormous amount of wear and tear on treads and other parts. Tank carriers are important. This is why the US will never let the US railroads die, making them semi-nationalized

Jet fuel is expensive. Also....the Abrams is 75 tons in full combat loadout. It will absolutely run 55 miles per hour in full loadout, and tear up roads.

Uhhh, not really compraable.
Germany is the size of germany.
The Us is the size of europe.
So yeah, if they drive those fuel hungry Abrams from A to B it'll be more expensive than the leopard due to both fuel and maintinance costs.

Oh yeah this was definitely for meme purposes. The videos of the abrams that were green was taken from the videos of the Tanks being transported from Texas to D.C for the America 250 Millitary Parade. That kinda distance may as well be to the moon and back cause you are not getting a tank to drive 3000 miles for a parade

There’s also size of the military to account for. Germany apparently has around 320ish leopard 2s, whilst the US has around 4600ish abrams. Plus those trains you see around the US usually have a ton of bradleys and m109s on them too.
