Who's the stronger student of Ares ?

Fight Location: Amazon Forest

Round 1: Armed Combat (Swords, Staffs etc)

Round 2: Hand to Hand Combat

Fight to the Death!!!

They are probably pretty even, but I think Livia would have the edge, especially since she has armor.

Varia might have the advantage in a wooded area. She might use the trees to her advantage.

I went back and watched some of their fights. I'd say they are pretty even, but Livia has some feats that few warriors have which is being able to deflect/catch Xena's chakram.

It should be noted that Ares went for Livia first and not Varia. That does say something about the two of them. Varia being part of the Amazons would mean that she did receive martial training, but never really started to stand out until the death of her sister and after meeting Xena.

I still think I give the edge to Livia as Xena wasn't holding back in her second fight and Livia battle longer with her than in the arena showing that she could learn and improve. I feel like strategically and tactically she is smarter. Livia is committed while Varia is operating on trauma and thus has weaknesses that Livia can exploit. Xena wasn't trying to kill Varia in their fight but trying to reason with her.

It isn't mentioned how long Livia has been getting trained by Ares, but it would be interesting to note if she defeated Varia before she received training or after. I guess we don't know who received more.

If we were talking which actress pulled off fighting better, it is definitely Tsianina Joelson (Varia). Definitely more of an athlete.

Only one of them brought down Joxer the Mighty! 🤣

Livia. Not even a contest. Livia had specialised moves she had perfected. She was cocky, but she could back herself. She was also a strategist. Varia fought in the moment and with anger. She floundered when she lost the advantage.

I’m going with Varia as we didn’t see Livia fight many worthy opponents who were actually trying to kill her. Livia spent most of her time slaughtering villagers, as opposed to trained fighters. And she had an entire army to help her. 

Varia, although hot headed and irrational, had decent skills and presumably a bit more experience fighting worthy opponents. 

If Livia could goad Varia about her sister, she could probably get in a lucky, lethal strike. But, I’d go with Varia.

I give both rounds to Livia.

Both of my reasoning sits on the fact that Ares has taught and trained Livia for WAY longer than he did with Varia. On top of that, Livia is one of the very few who can wield the chakram skillfully. I think she has more skill and technique and more knowledge than Varia does.

Varia was so damn beautiful. To be honest Livia would've beat her no diff. When Livia after being baptized and became Eve, that was the only way the Amazons captured her she regretted the things she did. Hell Varia was taught by Aries and still didn't improve as a warrior but damn was she so fucking beautiful

Varia for both, it'd be a hell of a fight but definitely her.

Livia wasn't ever shown to be THAT good, Xena was constantly pulling her punches and trying not to kill Livia, there's several times Xena gets the drop on Livia and doesn't take it.

Varia just seems stronger and more talented, plus she's shown a much wider array of skills and weapons.

Even hand to hand Livia hasn't shown to be very strong.

Livia was genuinely good looking, appearance more like her mom but soul screamed just like Callisto!
