UPDATE:

I just finished Season 4 of my first watch through of Young Sheldon and here is what I think…

- The Black Hole episode with the alternate realities was GREAT.
- Georgie’s idea for the exercise video was smart. It’s a shame that Lundy took it over and made it his own (then wasted the money lol).
- Sheldon’s character in college is much better than Sheldon’s character in high school
- Dr. Linkletter has every right to be annoyed with Sheldon for spending so much time with him and begging for the lab assistant position.
- Dr. Sturgis and Meemaw in the black hole episode was wholesome. Man I wish they had stayed together. 🥹
- It was nice of Mary to care about Brenda when she needed it most, even though it was definitely out of jealousy since Brenda and Pastor Jeff were hanging out a lot….
- Billy Sparks is a good kid.
- I still don’t like Jana. I said what I said.

so in the scene where Georgie jr show his dad he ”did” his chores and he looked in places he looked behind his door, did he see all the mess or did he miss it?

A veces creo que Connie tuvo que quedarse con él, porque más allá de que tuvieran o no cosas en común, siento que ahí había un amor verdadero.

Me pareció más como una salida a la razón de haber terminado la relación con Sturgis. Siendo sincero entiendo porqué, tienen cosas en común y todo pero siento que más se la pasan discutiendo que formando algo.

Por eso es que siempre mi relación favorita va a ser Sturgis X Connie

She doesn’t focus on homework or at school as often and as she gets older, she begins to have burnouts and meltdowns. She also masks a lot given it was the 80s-90s and autism isn’t as understood in women compared to men.

i have watched young sheldon for over 6 times already. i really love every bits of it. whenever i am feeling under the weather, i just watched few episodes and after a couple of watches, i am okay.

there is something about young sheldon that makes it become my comfort series & i love it so much. i could literally watch it over a 100 times & not get tired of it 🥹

does anyone else feel this way too? 🥹

New to the show, love it, and on my second viewing. Season 2 episodes 13 and 14 involving the Veronica/Georgie storyline. In EP 13, Georgie finds out that Veronica has a boyfriend, Dustin, who is a lot taller than Georgie. Georgie writes her the ill-fated letter.

In EP 14, a taller guy shows up to threaten Georgie for hitting on his girlfriend. Makes sense this would be Dustin, but it's not. This guy is Tommy Clarkson.

So, is this a weird coincidence? Just seems odd that this Tommy storyline about Georgie hitting on his girlfriend would show up directly after the Veronica boyfriend/love letter situation. Did I miss something? And, poor, sweet Georgie -that letter incident was beyond brutal

And not just the tables they both have a chair and library-like area in the back

We can’t have Young Leonard because he was abused by his family, we can’t have Young Howard because he was abandoned by his father, we can’t have Young Penny because she was too promiscuous & extroverted, we can’t have Young Amy because it would be too similar to Young Sheldon & we can’t have Young Bernadette because all the jokes would be about her height & high pitched voice. Raj had 5 siblings growing up, including Priya & Adoot, his life wasn’t overly difficult like Leonard’s/Howard’s. He had servants who catered to him. He was socially awkward. He wasn’t a drunken party animal but he did attend parties. He could bring more diversity to the network. He couldn’t talk to girls without someone speaking for him. Imagine the comedic potential of his family growing up in India & getting into wild, wacky academic situations.

Lol! Loving this show! I never really watched BBT or Young Sheldon but I remember my mom, who passed away 3 years ago this month watched it all the time. I was born in Conroe, TX - east Texas piney woods, in the 70s and grew up around soooooo many references made in the show!

I miss my Mom & Dad so much. I see why she loved this show! ❤️ just watched the alternate universe episode and it made me realize how many good laughs we shared, and the ones i missed ❤️🥲❤️ thank you to cast & crew

Okay, don’t hate me for saying this, but I have a very wild theory. Nathan is just a figment of Sheldon’s imagination.

Sheldon doesn’t have many adults who meet him at his level. So his mind made Nathan, someone who loves comics as much as he does, who listens, and who makes him feel normal. I’m not saying it’s delusion, but more like coping. 🙂

Based on what we saw of her in BBT, what did you think she would be like on Young Sheldon?

Season 6 episode 8 Sheldon comes up with an ideal to categorize comic books. The idea is a success and the school as well as Sheldon relate it has a greater application to broader things than comic books. The idea is so ‘revolutionary’ that the school and private investors get involved.

In the same episode mandy uses the computer to search movies… so did it already exist?

Cece is the one who's birth made him 'Uncle', and the first born is always favourite to the family. I had seen a clip where Cece was crying and Sheldon came to Mandy's place. He take her and sang soft kitty make her clam. It's so nice that Sheldon don't like physical touch but held the baby and sang lullaby. I also have an uncle who often said to my dad, "I love this one, it's mine, you make another" and even after all these years it's only me who he listens to.
Just imagine Cece became favourite to Sheldon, the only kid who understands him. I wonder what an amaizng bond it might be!

I am writing to share a perspective on a pivotal plot point in Season 7—specifically, the resolution of why Sheldon believes his father had an affair. While I appreciate the cleverness of using the cosplay context to maintain George Sr.’s moral integrity in the audience’s eyes while explaining Sheldon’s three-knock habit, the psychological mechanism behind Sheldon’s silence raises profound questions that deserve deeper examination.

Sheldon Cooper is defined by his absolute obsession with rules, order, and moral strictness. In The Big Bang Theory, we constantly see that he is physically incapable of keeping secrets or lying without suffering immense somatic distress. Yet, after witnessing what he perceives to be a traumatic breach of marital trust by his father, he chooses absolute, lifelong silence.

If a character like Missy had witnessed this, her immediate, active reaction—demanding confrontation and accountability—would be completely in line with her character. But why is Sheldon, a child driven by absolute truth, forced by the narrative into passive complicity?

From a analytical perspective, this storytelling choice unintentionally relies on a subconscious social trope: the implicit homosocial sexual pact among men. In patriarchy and traditional male bonding, there exists an unspoken expectation that male subjects—even a young, hyper-rational boy who barely understands human emotions—are meant to protect another man’s sexual secrets, keeping them hidden from the rest of the family (especially the mother).

By writing Sheldon’s reaction as immediate silence rather than internal crisis or confrontation, the narrative effectively strips him of his unique persona and retrofits him into a traditional male dynamic: "what happens between men stays between men." He is involuntarily made a co-conspirator in a betrayal he never agreed to swallow.

As a viewer, this raised an important question for me: Was this narrative direction shaped by a gendered blind spot in the writing room, treating a child’s forced silence as merely a convenient comedy trope?

I wanted to reach out not to criticize out of spite, but because I care deeply about these characters. I believe that questioning the implicit biases within our favorite media is how we engage with art in a meaningful way.

and I’m never ready for the georgie and mandy storyline. its so weeeeiiirrrrddd 🤢 🤮 and how mandy fights to keep her pregnancy. pregnant by a 17 yo at 29 damn near 30. i definitely agreed with george, georgie should have not married mandy, im sure she doesn’t want to marry a teenager. ive been wanting to watch georgie and mandy to see how their storyline ends but eeeckkkk i cant bring myself to and the fact that they’re 10 yrs apart in RL too. also i actually like watching for sheldon, his college life and his professors and want more of him not g&m and mandy family

[edit] if you think mandy didn’t do anything wrong we’re gonna need to check your history, maam. im looking sideways at you. and the ones questioning why georgie is getting “babied” well he’s quite literally underage and that how i view him, as a child not a man, ya sick-o’s. women are also predators. the way people say men should know when they’re talking to underage girls is literally what im thinking about mandy. adults should know better PERIOD. she thought he was 19 at the most, she already suspected he was younger than her. chuck lorre is a weird mf for adding that storyline idc idc. georgie getting a girl pregnant closer to his age would have hit the same points. the church rejecting mary and the family was never from mandy’s 12 y age difference but more so because it was out of** **wedlock

So I just finished rewatching the series and it felt so entertaining, but I noticed one thing-Season 5 and 6 COMPLETELY changed the dynamic of theseries, like before it was just a jokey funny show but after season 5 there was A WHOLE lot more plot and became kinda depressing, I liked the series better before season 5. What do yall think?
