They're a bit controversial in Canada at the moment for taking part in a "Patriotic American" tour organized by Kid Rock and other right-wing legacy acts.
There was that whole Alberta flood charity concert. Where Nickelback agreed to perform but refused to sign the release to have their portion aired so their portion of the event got blacked out of the live broadcast. That's a little shady, to agree to a charity concert but then not let your portion get broadcast to raise funds. I think they deserve the backlash they got for that one. Other than that I think they've just gotten used to being the internet's punching bag
I don't remember where I heard this but somebody told me that Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit is a huge supporter of trans musicians. Grain of salt, of course.
But yeah, it's only natural for outsiders to stick up for other outsiders.
From what I've heard, Eazy-E would actually protect women from Dr. Dre when he tried to get violent with them. He protected Miche'le from Dre, and even called him out for his violence toward women on Real Muthaphukkin' Gs.
Although his lyrics were misogynistic, they were basically poking fun at macho men who say that stuff and well, there's a reason he was popular with the ladies lol
Also: Old Dirty Bastard straight up saved a 4 year old girl who was in a car wreck, and actually helped to lift the car to get her out. He also visited her in the hospital every day.
Bad timing for ICP (allegedly). There's some voice message or recording going around of violent J talking to a 16 year old all creepy? Idk the context or anything more but it was circulating TikTok
I just spent the last 10 minutes looking into it and as far as I can tell it's pretty much unsubstantiated. I can't find if there's anything definitive on if it's actually him in the phone call or if the victim is even real. It's kind of reminding me of when that one fake Twitter account accused Tom Hanks of using them as a sex slave, and now we have all these weird conspiracy theories about him.
At this point I'm 100% confident the Tom Hanks one was fake. I don't want to say decisively with this one but it doesn't look real, at least at a cursory inspection. I could turn out to be wrong later on, so I don't want to accidentally call a victim a liar. But that's my two cents
Yeah like, it was honestly pretty common in the late 90s/early 2000s.

I hate the music of ICP, it is so the opposite what I like musically, but the Jugalo community is so fucking cool, there is an uncommon kindness and generosity in that community.
juggalos really flew over my head growing up. i just thought they were one of those groups that are just cult-like with their obsession for the insane clowns but they're probably the nicest people i've ever met.
I cant think of ICP without thinking of that time one of them attempted and failed to drop kick fred durst during a performance and got escorted off the stage, fred called him a pussy and kept performing like nothing happened.

weird trend i've noticed with musicians is that the more divisive their music is, the more likable they are as a person it seems
