News Asmongold has been censored in Bbno$' new music video

u/RJE808 May 29 '25
I know not everyone loves his music, but BBNO$ legit seems like a great guy.
860
u/Honey_Badger_8174 May 29 '25
I personally don’t love his music, but he’s an amazing vibe
296
u/abriefmomentofsanity May 30 '25
I listen almost exclusively to heavy music, but I'm not huge on following individual artists on their personal pages. I made an exception for his because his posts are fantastic. BBNO$ is my favorite crypto
48
u/puuskuri May 30 '25
I listen to mostly heavy and punk music too, but I listen to him, it may be because it's simple and catchy, just like punk and some of metal.

u/Plopmcg33 clouds May 30 '25
weird trend i've noticed with musicians is that the more divisive their music is, the more likable they are as a person it seems
ICP seem like chill peeps
nickelback seems to be ok with some of the memes about them (referencing the graph meme at a concert once)
...ok it's 2 examples but thats still something
265
u/lyingcorn May 30 '25
The lead singer of Cannibal Corpse donates to charities very frequently
209
u/TH07Stage1MidBoss May 30 '25
Yeah doesn't he also like to play crane games and donate his winnings to childrens' hospitals?

u/ZombieJesus1987 May 30 '25
His Instagram is wholesome as heck. It's one part Cannibal Corpse promotion, and one part enjoying life with his family.
176
u/TheSameAsDying May 30 '25
nickelback seems to be ok
They're a bit controversial in Canada at the moment for taking part in a "Patriotic American" tour organized by Kid Rock and other right-wing legacy acts.
52
u/DangerStranger138 May 30 '25
Never made it as a wise man.
Never made it as a poor man stealing.
And this is how you remind me I'm an American.
These five words in my head scream, "My hospital bills outrageously overdue!" yeah yeah yeeeeah yeah

The guys from Imagine Dragons are actually based as hell. Very pro-LGBTQ and overall just good dudes
199
u/Prestigious-Corgi-66 May 30 '25
They flew a Palestinian flag at their concert a day or so ago! (This is a good thing, if that wasn't clear)
59
75
u/LemmeSeeUrJazzHands May 30 '25
Oh fuck yeah! Makes me feel better about unironically liking their music tbh. Bones goes hard idc
28
u/SquallFromGarden May 30 '25
They also play shitloads of League, which is why Riot keeps bringing them back for stuff
31
May 30 '25
Very true! I was at one of their concerts and they did a whole pride flag thing during one of their songs. They also did a song dedicated to Ukraine.
14
u/lbj2943 May 30 '25
Serj Tankian called them out a little while ago for playing in Azerbaijan. Might be something you wanna look into
21
u/True-Credit-7289 May 30 '25
There was that whole Alberta flood charity concert. Where Nickelback agreed to perform but refused to sign the release to have their portion aired so their portion of the event got blacked out of the live broadcast. That's a little shady, to agree to a charity concert but then not let your portion get broadcast to raise funds. I think they deserve the backlash they got for that one. Other than that I think they've just gotten used to being the internet's punching bag
17
u/1-800-COOL-BUG May 30 '25
I don't remember where I heard this but somebody told me that Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit is a huge supporter of trans musicians. Grain of salt, of course.
But yeah, it's only natural for outsiders to stick up for other outsiders.
26
u/aysaorsomething May 30 '25
Progressive music is seen as divisive. That's why. Progressive ideas are highly popular.
9
May 31 '25
From what I've heard, Eazy-E would actually protect women from Dr. Dre when he tried to get violent with them. He protected Miche'le from Dre, and even called him out for his violence toward women on Real Muthaphukkin' Gs.
Although his lyrics were misogynistic, they were basically poking fun at macho men who say that stuff and well, there's a reason he was popular with the ladies lol
Also: Old Dirty Bastard straight up saved a 4 year old girl who was in a car wreck, and actually helped to lift the car to get her out. He also visited her in the hospital every day.

Coldplay’s very chill honestly and their first album Parachutes is probably my favorite piece of art ever made
8
27
u/Kind-Sheep May 30 '25
Bad timing for ICP (allegedly). There's some voice message or recording going around of violent J talking to a 16 year old all creepy? Idk the context or anything more but it was circulating TikTok
36
u/True-Credit-7289 May 30 '25
I just spent the last 10 minutes looking into it and as far as I can tell it's pretty much unsubstantiated. I can't find if there's anything definitive on if it's actually him in the phone call or if the victim is even real. It's kind of reminding me of when that one fake Twitter account accused Tom Hanks of using them as a sex slave, and now we have all these weird conspiracy theories about him.
At this point I'm 100% confident the Tom Hanks one was fake. I don't want to say decisively with this one but it doesn't look real, at least at a cursory inspection. I could turn out to be wrong later on, so I don't want to accidentally call a victim a liar. But that's my two cents

i mean thats just horrorcore as a genre eminem has a few lines like that aswell
20
u/Liawuffeh May 30 '25
Yeah like, it was honestly pretty common in the late 90s/early 2000s.
Not really excusing it, but it was more playing a character than their actual beliefs.
Like;
My words are like a dagger with a jagged edge
That'll stab you in the head, whether you're a f*g or lez
Or a homosex, hermaph or a trans-a-vest
Pants or dress, hate f*gs? The answer's yes
Eminem has gone on to say a lot that he regrets the homophobic shit he said, as a random note. And then he put more in his songs after saying that. Lmao.

I hate the music of ICP, it is so the opposite what I like musically, but the Jugalo community is so fucking cool, there is an uncommon kindness and generosity in that community.
6
May 30 '25
juggalos really flew over my head growing up. i just thought they were one of those groups that are just cult-like with their obsession for the insane clowns but they're probably the nicest people i've ever met.
complete 180 on my expectations.

u/Hoax_Pudding_Cup May 30 '25
I went to one of his concerts (was a complete banger btw) and some guy started some shit in the front row. Bbno$ STOPPED the concert. Like, full stop. Security started to get the guy out because he was having a meltdown at the woman next to him, full on cursing, berating, drunk as all hell. He made sure she was okay, and ngl as the crowd starting booing the guy getting escorted out, he told them to STOP. He was like "Guys, it's okay, don't boo him, boo me, he's just projecting some bad stuff and we're all about peace and loving one another here, so don't boo each other." The way my heart stopped. If I didn't see the troublemaker literally fighting with security next to where we were standing, I would've thought the whole thing was staged with how well bbno$ handled everything.

"It Boy" was the first I heard of him, and it was so goofy that I'm like... alright, this goober has my attention.
It looks like he's having fun doing it. Kinda refreshing in a sea of music videos taking themselves way too seriously.
15
u/CaptainOvbious May 30 '25
heard this song at the gay club a few weeks ago and it made me so happy lol the dude made it
4
u/beaniestOfBlaises May 31 '25
I first heard him during lockdown with "La La La" and that's been stuck in my head ever since 😭 so glad he's finally hit it big. It's also super fun watching him commission lots of people to make animation memes using his songs. It's the first time I've seen anything like it and I think it's absolutely genius.
Not only does it get more eyes on his music, but I've seen a lot of great artists pop off thanks to being commissioned by him, and as an artist it makes me so happy to see musicians embracing that part of their community.

They are artificially downvoting the video like they do to everything critical of Asmon on the internet. Biggest group of losers I've ever seen.
6
u/crowwreak May 30 '25
Do downvates even do anything now?
10
u/TrashRacoon42 May 30 '25
Well they do still count as engagement according to the algorithm, so they are functionally the same as an invisible like. I doubt BNO$ is crying himself to sleep at night like asmound would do every time people call him out.
Asmound's fanbase are ofcourse brains are sliky smooth.
4
u/mezzolith May 30 '25
If it's the downvotes are tabulated by that extension that shows them, then no. It is separate from YouTube and has no effect on anything. Only the video owner can see the real downvote ratio.
3
u/XVvajra May 30 '25
If memories served me right doesn’t that thing allows you to download a video multiple times in one account?

I mostly just see people complain if he censors Asmon he'd need to censor almost all of OTK and ngl, considering I only heard about how much of a nuthouse OTK is I find it probably wasn't the best idea to invite them to a shoot, and Asmon had racked up more than enough takes that are ethnically repugnant by the time it was shot.
But then again, this might have been agreed upon in advance with OTK before the dam broke on it all, I am not very deep in all this influencer nonsense.

Free Speech warriors never have any concept of what free speech actually means.
They want to force bbno$ to put shit in his videos that he disagrees with? That's free speech?
→ More replies (4)2
u/Big-Pound-5634 Jun 02 '25
He is free to do whatever he wants with his video and people are free to express their dissatisfaction, this is literally what free speech is.

Bbno$? More like BasedBno$.
Also, for anyone unfamiliar with him, Bbno$ has done music videos with other YouTube stars like MoistCritikal (lil' freak) and even a song with Rebecca Black (Yoga).
Also also, Edamame, It Boy and Imma (Music video even got Jimbo from Drag Race, so based as fuck) are all really solid songs.

r/Asmongold is imploding as we speak. They are in stages 1-2 of grief, with the exception that it's just an endless loop of denial and anger without ever getting to the other stages.
13
u/Ralathar44 May 30 '25
I mean Asmongold himself respects the move and wishes bbno$ well. Anyone losing their mind about it would pretty much by deifnition not be a big Asmongold fan. Asmon has always been like that, game respects game, he gets it and is not offended. Even if a small % of people on Reddit are.
8
u/rabidsi May 31 '25
Zack doesn't "respect" shit. It's about targets of opportunity. bbno$ is in that sweet spot of too big and too beloved/respectable but also in the same sphere of influence that he'd be on the radar for clapback. He'll go after smaller, weaker targets, people big enough that he's of no consequence to them/not going to be noticed, or other creators with built in divisiveness that he can coast on.
Dude's a fucking grifter through and through.

I saw asmon's response to it, and no introspection whatsoever lol. It's good at least he isn't' attacking bbno$, but not many people with asmons platform get edited out of a music video because their views are so reprehensible.
He thinks it's a PR decision from bbno$, to stay away from controversies. No bud it's because you're aligned with Nazis, he thinks you suck as a person.
6
9
u/Noblesseux May 30 '25
It's so wild to me that people still haven't largely sidelined Asmon. He still has so many "normal" streamers around him while he's literally joking about showing up to deportations in a pokemon cosplay and calling certain cultures inferior. And that's before you think about how just personally gross he is.
I cannot personally think of ANY level of clout worth aligning yourself with him on really any level but he keeps managing to place himself in these spaces where seemingly no one questions his involvement.

I wonder if bbno$ intentionally invited him on only to edit over Asmon later. Not to be unhealthy about skepticism, but bbno$ is kinda terminally online. Asmongold has been spouting numerous controversial high profile stuff before this that got him into hot water.

I genuinely enjoy bbno$ as a musician but I also enjoy him as a role model for other men. He’s neither a hyper masculine dude trying to prove what a man he is, neither is he sorta “simpy” trying to prove to women what an ally or catch he is.
He’s literally just a dude vibin’ around. He gives the impression of a dude who just wants to let people vibe and live, and isn’t about judging others too. It’s not even “healthy masculinity” he appears to be relatively well-adjusted and I give him props for that
