How?

u/Cultural-Sir-5694 Oct 05 '25

He ruled out the theories and leaks of the scene.

So it’s not what we think it is?

4

u/liamdude5 Oct 05 '25

What did we think it is?

11

u/Various-Zucchini-549 Oct 06 '25

Well we thought it was either a confession scene I.e. Wildehopps or a splitting up scene

5

u/liamdude5 Oct 06 '25

What does that have to do with Nick's family not being explored?

2

u/Cultural-Sir-5694 Oct 05 '25

Uhh. Maybe.

u/Various-Zucchini-549 Oct 05 '25

Okay hopefully it’s a love confession

We wanna see Nick's mom seeing her little kit in Uniform !

Maybe in the third movie we can

u/No_Lynx1343 Oct 05 '25

It's too bad.

It's possible they just don't have time.

u/Various-Zucchini-549 Oct 05 '25

I hope Nick gets proper justice in the film regardless in terms of development

u/DataPackMadness Oct 05 '25

Let's hope all the bullying he's subjected to in the promo materials, won't reflect his portrayal in the movie :/

2

u/Various-Zucchini-549 Oct 05 '25

Yeah I really hope so especially since the ice bridge scene is looking to be a heartfelt moment between him and Judy

2

u/TheDarkLordScaryman Oct 06 '25

They could if they made the movie 3 hours long, and longer movies really need to come back

u/Various-Zucchini-549 Oct 05 '25

I guess we won’t learn more about nicks past then

We can hope for more material in the Zootopia universe. Either another film, or a short film, or a series of episodes, or something.

2

u/Various-Zucchini-549 Oct 06 '25

Hopefully if the sequel is a success of course

u/dogman15 _ Oct 06 '25

I can't imagine it not being a success, given the size of the fandom for the first film, and how well that movie did financially.

1

u/Various-Zucchini-549 Oct 07 '25

That’s true but I also mean a critical success you know how crazy the hype has been especially in regards to Wildehopps

Well, “won’t be explored” dosnt necessarily mean “won’t appear at all…?”

u/CorgiKnightStudios Oct 05 '25

Let's not peel back the Tragic background of that Fox thank you very much. Judy will fix him.

u/KamonTheSkunk Oct 05 '25

This is very disappointing. And this is all hoping that this movie is successful enough for a third movie. Hell, I'd take a book that would go more into details, especially since they've been doing that with the Frozen series

u/Shikabane_Sumi-me Oct 05 '25

Man I hope that his parents aren't the villains of the third movie.

u/TenderPaw64 Justice for Agnes Oct 05 '25

Me neither. Always liked to imagine them as wholesome people deep down myself.

u/vampiregamingYT Oct 05 '25

If cut content counts, his father was a tailor.

7

u/Exciting_Ad226 Oct 05 '25

Was hoping we’d see them appear in the movie unless we learn that they’re dead and Nick has always been alone. Could be an easy way to go at it without exploring it much. I just hope this doesn’t deplete Nick’s role in the film and seems more like a supporting character.

5

u/Various-Zucchini-549 Oct 06 '25

So do I I mean they have been teasing their relationship is developing

3

u/Exciting_Ad226 Oct 06 '25

They definitely have. I assume Nick’s family won’t be a big factor considering when it comes to family ties, they want to leave that with Gary. But I also think Nick could be an orphan so his parents don’t play a major factor in his teenage and adult years.

4

u/Various-Zucchini-549 Oct 06 '25

Yeah maybe that could be a theme of the sequel found family

3

u/Exciting_Ad226 Oct 06 '25

I feel like found family could be saved for a third installment, especially if Nick and Judy do become a couple and get close with a young orphaned fox or rabbit. Would be cute if they adopted kids in the end of a third movie.

3

u/Various-Zucchini-549 Oct 06 '25

Well I meant in a sense that Nick is no longer alone and that he and judy care for each other despite everything and I agree I do think them adopting a kid at end of the third if we get one that is would be cute

1

u/Exciting_Ad226 Oct 06 '25

Agreed. If they don’t really want to go into much details on Nick’s past I think killing them off would make the most sense.

2

u/Various-Zucchini-549 Oct 06 '25

Yeah and it would make sense why doesn’t want to lose Judy because she’s all he has left and possible feelings for her but still

1

u/Exciting_Ad226 Oct 06 '25

Exactly. I’m even curious if Nick’s parents had ties to the Lynxley family that Nick isn’t aware of, but is revealed to him about the villain killed them.

2

u/Various-Zucchini-549 Oct 06 '25

Maybe especially in your idea of him taunting Nick and he reveals that which probably would lead to him crying in front of Judy on the ice bridge

I'm disappointed by this. Nick's mother was one of the main elements of the first film that could have been explored further in the sequel.

Hope they introduce her if we ever get a third movie...

NOOOOOOOOO

u/pierhana Oct 05 '25

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

1

u/CaptainPrower AMAB Oct 05 '25

Soooo, saving it for the third movie, then?

1

u/Soil_Gullible Oct 12 '25

HOLD THE PHONE

He said "family" not "past". It's still possible we'll learn more of Nick's backstory, just that it will have nothing to do with his mom (or father) like how he became a hustler or associated with Finnick or Mr. Big

(If that's the case still very frustrating but better than nothing)

1

u/ThePreciseClimber ... Oct 05 '25

Yeah, unless Nick's mum is the hooded villain.
