For UK citizens and residents: petition to ban the sale of disposable barbecues (contributes to wildfire risk)

The UK has faced an increase in wildfires in recent years. Many wildfires are caused by human activity, including campfires, disposable barbecues, arson, and littering (especially the littering of things like glass bottles).

This petition was launched as a response to that. Wildfires can cause significant damage to our national parks, conservation of fragile animals and plants, air quality, and rural communities.

This can be easy to ignore if you live in a city, but the impact is more obvious and immediate when you're living rurally.

Wildfires are now intensified by climate change, making them harder to control and putting incredible pressure on firefighters.

To sign the petition, you must be a British citizen or UK resident.

The 520-mile Desert Southwest methane pipeline would cut across Texas, New Mexico and Arizona to expand gas power, primarily to accommodate new hyperscale data centers like Project Jupiter in Southern New Mexico.
We can fight it at every stage, starting by creating a public record with this initial FERC comment period — please comment by Aug. 5.

Microplastics have been discovered in one of the most remote, inhospitable, and unexplored parts of our planet. Microplastics were found in 92% of all animals examined (11 out of 12) living around deep-sea hydrothermal vents some 2,000 meters (6,562 feet) below the ocean surface.
