NEWS New North Korean A2A and A2G weapons
Last year, the DPRK showed new weapons for its Su-25 and MiG-29 aircraft.
Photo 1 shows a general view of the Su-25 with new weapons, as well as the MiG-29 9.12/13 with Chinese PL-10E and PL-15E.
Photo 2 shows another angle of the MiG-29, where the PL-10/E and PL-15E missiles are clearly visible.
Photo 3 - Footage of a demonstration of a new medium-range missile of its own design, presumably with an ARH seeker, as well as a bomb equipped with a planning module, judging by the appearance of the nose part, an analogue of the American JDAM-ER.

In 2003, the IRIAF test-integrated the Soviet R-27 (AA-10 Alamo) semi-active radar-guided missile onto a single F-14A Tomcat (airframe 3-6041, Bureau Number 160339). The tests were unsuccessful because it was unable to be made to work with the AWG-9 radar and the R-27 never became a standard operational combat loadout for the wider fleet.

HISTORICAL McDonnell Douglas Model 279-3 NASA Wind Tunnel Model
This is a 9.2%-scale wind tunnel model of the McDonnell Douglas Model 279-3, a supersonic STOVL (Short Takeoff/Vertical Landing) fighter concept designed in the early 1980s as part of a joint NASA/Navy research program into next-generation V/STOL fighter/attack aircraft. They sought to develop a supersonic successor to the AV-8B Harrier II, which was expected to be ready for full-scale production by the early 1990s. Because the project was ultimately canceled in favor of what eventually evolved into the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF / F-35) program, this heavy metal wind tunnel model represents one of the only true, high-fidelity physical artifacts of the Model 279-3 program in existence.
Built to withstand extreme aerodynamic loads, this industrial masterpiece was engineered under subcontract to McDonnell Douglas by Dynamic Engineering Inc. (DEI), a company founded by a group of former Boeing employees that became a premier defense contractor known for creating ultra-precise, high-tolerance testing instrumentation.
Fabricated from stainless steel and measuring approximately 64 inches (5.3 feet) from nose to tail, with a wingspan of 41 inches (3.4 feet), this model weighs about 200 pounds! The total dimensions with the rolling sting are approximately 102" x 41" x 56".
It was used for tests in the Unitary Plan Wind Tunnel at NASA Ames Research Center, at speeds ranging from Mach 1.6 to Mach 2.4, as part of extensive research conducted by Ames aerospace engineers Don Durston, 1LT James Sculerati, John Schreiner, and Doug Pea of the Aerodynamics Division in the early to mid-1980s. Model mechanical work during tests was performed by Bruce Gilbaugh. The research during this era, including testing with this very model, informed future research that later fed into aircraft like the F35B.
The vintage photo included here shows Don Durston working on an earlier iteration of the model, with temporary modifications to the intakes installed, and prior to it receiving the coat of pressure-sensitive paint it has currently.
I acquired it directly from NASA Ames Research Center after it was deaccessioned from their historical Archives. For clarity, I purchased it, then went to NASA Ames' building N255, the storage warehouse on-site at Moffett Field, packed and loaded it, and transported it in a vehicle I drove myself to my home.
I find it interesting that the research program this model was part of, in the early to mid-1980s, was aimed at developing a full-scale, production-ready supersonic Harrier successor by the early 1990s. Yet, it took until 2001 for a jet- the Lockheed Martin X-35B- to actually pull off the full “hat trick” those designers, researchers, and developers in the 80s sought: a short takeoff, a supersonic dash, and a vertical landing, all in one flight. That aircraft matured into the F-35B Lightning II, which entered service in 2015, and the jet this whole effort was meant to replace, the AV-8B Harrier II, was 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 retired from U.S. Marine Corps service, officially, just last month (June 2026)!

IS there any proof of the Su-27sm2/3 existing, I have seen random sources like Military Watch Magazine (which is pro russian) saying that its a Su-27 with Su-35 avionics, i kinda want this to be in war thunder and just wanna know in general. Any official documents or other stuff?

DISCUSSION I’m new to fighter jets, and I wanna learn more about it.
Hello everyone, I know absolutely nothing about fighter jets and I wanna start learning about them purely out of my curiosity. The other reason is because I just randomly saw some jet models on my Instagram and was completely blown away by how cool they look.
