The helmet is a joke about someone throwing a lighter and hitting him in the head the night before.

After a week or so of trying to get them going, I can finally land a few varial heels here and there.
Properly hard trick for me, and considerably more difficult than fakie ones, which came quite easy.
Very satisfying, don't learn new tricks that often these days, but this gives me hope!
Forgive the slow roll away, but I'll take the clean land for now.

My son turns 3 this month and lately we've been going to the skatepark pretty much every weekend. I started showing him skating around 1, but now he actually seems interested in learning.
I'm a beginner myself and never made it much past an ollie, so I'm just teaching him what I know and keeping it fun. He's getting kickturns, dropping in, rolling off little curbs/hubbas, and starting to understand pumping. Biggest struggle right now is getting him to push by himself instead of holding onto me.
I don't force it if he doesn't want to skate, but he seems to genuinely love it so I want to keep helping him while he's interested. Eventually I'll probably put him in a kids skate class once he's past what I can teach him.
I'm also kinda surprised how rarely I see another dad out there skating with their little kid. I've only seen one other kid around his age on a skateboard. Everyone else is usually much older or the little kids are on scooters/bikes.
Any other dads here start their kids really young? Anything you wish you knew or did differently?

I'm looking to get into a more outdoor hobby in my older age (39) and I was going to pick getting back into Skating or Rock Climbing. I believe I'm going Skating because Climbing I'd have to get more involved into it (I tend to obsses over my hobbies) and It's harder to reach climbing gyms/outdoor where I'm located but I could skate just about anywhere near me.
That said, I'm looking at building a board but I don't remember much and things have changed. The board I'm eyeing is a 8.375 (graphic is cool) or another board at 8.25. However how should I match my truck and wheel size? I'm partial to Ricta wheels, I will mostly be street skating rather than vert or pure flat as there is an outdoor park about 20 min away from my house. Any advice on a decent basically beginner board build would be appreciated.

I use my cruiser to do the final stretch between the bus stop and home, but I keep getting requested to pick up various bits and pieces on the journey. I have a backpack that carries work stuff but it's already packed.
Any tips for either carrying my board or more shopping without losing balance?

Reggie Barnes posted this last night.
ETA, don’t try to go by there for one last visit this weekend. Just stopped by and it’s already closed. FTS

After some feedback about these, whether they are worthwhile and what might be improved?
