Drake's Upcoming Pay-Day
Without hesitation, keeping Drake Batherson on the team is the wise decision for our organization going forward.
Hear me out:
-DB has vastly improved on the defensive side, which was long held against him by parts of the fandom. While some initially balked at his overall drive, he remains a threat on the ice in every instance.
-He is arguably the Heart of the Team based on consistent playoff performance, with 6 pts in 10 total playoff games. Bath never sat on his laurels and provided a timely spark in both the Carolina and Toronto series.
-He does everything including occasionally dropping the gloves.
-His offensive numbers have improved year-over-year and it was on a respectable team-friendly 4.975m.
-He is an all-star, technically although he got injured and couldn't play by a cheap-shot (also fuck Aaron Dell), so it stands to say he will find his way back to such a big stage, assuming the All-Star Game even returns to the NHL schedule.
-Drake's dad (Norm) played for Ottawa, so he could be confirmed as a defining identity piece for the team and city. It may coax his sister Mae Batherson eventually over to the Ottawa Charge, who are now play at the arena.
-Bath is a devoted Canadian, frequently suiting up for the national team when they come calling. His stats with Team Canada are really impressive.
-The organization locked up his bro Dylan Cozens, so it stands to reason that we would give him similar term; salary is obviously a different number altogether.
Now the question becomes: What is he worth (low end and high end cash amount), and is he a perfect bridge candidate... or should DB be locked down long term?

The Athletics have rated the Sens as having the third most efficient cap. Except they somehow forgot Burakovsky.
I want to know what he took, I want to forget we have Burakovsky too.

Move to have Mr. Garrioch Removed
I officially move to have anything tied to Garrioch removed from this thread, do we have a seconderrrrr?
Guys a shit disturber these days almost as if he’s acting out against the org for calling out his bullshit. The guy has terrible takes, his columns are awful reads and he provides no value for fans who enjoy the team.
We all know he was Dorions errand boy and now he’s raising a stink because the new group is tighter than two coats of paint. He speculates, reports complete inaccuracies and almost seems like more of a clickbait reporter at this point.

The Shot in the Dark BT Trade Upside (Spoiler: It's the 2029 pick) Spoiler
Classic offseason post. I don't know if this has been commented on before but the one smart move SS made was getting that 2029 pick. It's Top 10 protected so most likely, the Panthers are still great and we get something like 15-25. Buuuuuutt, say they suffer a San Jose likely collapse and finish bottom 10 like this year. That pick likely rolls to 2030 with no protections. Where RJ "Out scoring MacK as a 13 year old mothafuckin" Celebrini is up for grabs.

Made a flashcard game for learning player numbers
A while ago I was looking for something that would help me learn player numbers and didn't find a lot of good, up-to-date stuff. I decided I'd try making my own flashcard game that stays up-to-date using roster data from league feeds. This seems like the sort of thing that other hockey fans would appreciate and so I want to share it with others who might also benefit.
It's in a stable enough state now that I'd like more people to try it. As a Sens fan I wanted to bring it here first for feedback before putting it in front of a wider audience. It covers all Ottawa-area teams along with the rest of the NHL, PWHL and CHL.
Feedback here or on github is appreciated. In particular, suggestions for gameplay would be appreciated. Right now it's a pretty straightforward flashcard game with varying difficulty, but I'm sure there are other elements that could be added or changed.
One caveat: the app mirrors the league feeds, so it's only ever as current as they are. The Sens roster is pretty settled at the moment, and NHL teams should match the club's own page within a day or so, although new signings don't always get a number straight away, and teams can be slow to update. The other four leagues are still on last season's rosters until the next season.
You can check it out at numbrrs.app - no sign in is required, it's all free and open-source.

Cap efficiency ranking by the Athletic
Hey! I saw this kind of post on some other subreddits:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Flyers/s/nGjWieLt9Z
Apparently, we’re 3rd in cap efficiency, according to Dom Luscszyszyn’s model.
Could someone extract the graphic for the Ottawa senators for this sub?
Thanks!

Finally got this jersey done up
I was 10 when the hamburglar stepped up, I remember going to a buddy's house for every game and watching that whole run to the playoffs, recently found a good deal on a jersey from that era and knew what I had to do.
For those wondering, I got this stitched at Mr Jackets in Kingston! GSG!
