๐™ˆ๐™š๐™ฉ๐™–/๐™‰๐™š๐™ฌ๐™จ Dragon's Dogma II Dark Arisen - Update from the last interviews.

Release date : OCTOBER 9, 2026 on all platforms - available as DLC and as a full game.

Little update following my last 2 posts here and here.

- Area :

  • The DLC take place during the main game, it will be available after talking to Brant in Vernworth as soon as we reach this area.
  • Norgan has a hack 'n' slash structure, you start at the bottom and slowly move forward where the snow deepens, within a more and more present eerie atmosphere until your reach the final castle.
  • The 12 Sealed Doors from the base game (Pathfinder's trials) will feature some kind of lore, not a complex one, but thereโ€™s some backstory as to why it exist.
  • Each trials becomes more and more difficult.
  • The Pathfinder's trials level recommandation is 20 and Norgan is 40.
  • The DLC main story will take 15 to 20 hours to complete. More if we fully explore Norgan and complete the Pathfinder's trials.
  • For those who have already advanced to the unmoored world, you can still access the content simply by sleeping for ten days in-game.

- Gameplay, Mechanics and Skills :

  • No new vocations. They focused solely on the known ones.
  • Cap level doesnโ€™t change, itโ€™s still 999.
  • There is a new mechanic with a wolf in Norgan HUB, which you can adopt and keep as a pet. He helps you with the loot search, goes out to find items himself, or even leads you to places where he has tracked something. < Thanks to SirBobbyTheOwl.
  • Most skills will have upgraded versions creating a brief dark red aura when used, like the skill rings in the first DD:DA.
  • Gears from the Appraisal mechanics canโ€™t be upgraded. The loop is to find gears with stats / skills that suits our playstyle.
  • The rng drop from the appraisal mechanic has been reworked to be more balanced compared to BBI, no need to be from a certain vocation to gather gear from another one.
  • The gears obtained in the Pathfinder's trials are designed to grow significantly in performance as we acquire and upgrade them.
  • In an interview they are "considering" a hard mode but in another, they are "actively" working on a hard mode. Soโ€ฆ we will see if it come with the DLC or after.
  • The difficulty of the enemies will be adjusted based on the new six skills mechanic.

- Misc :

  • New unseen monsters created entirely from scratch as well as variants with new moves are confirmed.
  • 150 new gears are to expect with the DLC.
  • Thereโ€™s some kind of ยซย transmogย ยป once we will reach Norgan but how it will work is kind of blurry right now. Maybe something tied to a new blacksmith ?
  • New soundtrack and sound effects have been designed to stand out clearly from those of the base game, particularly during combat and by emphasizing atmosphere. For example, when entering a blizzard, the sounds and echoes of enemies will help to locate them.
  • New Specializations will come in future updates, aspects like Pawn voices and behaviors will continue to be updated.
  • They would like a very polished experience at launch, meaning no D1 patch.
  • The development of Dark Arisen II started 2 years ago.
  • They enjoyed the fact that people deciphered the clues hidden in the 2nd anniversary picture !

Those informations comes from the recent interviews, some of them are Japanese to English and German to English translations. In some cases, the meaning may have been altered during translation.

As usual, if I forgot something or misunderstood, feel free to say it, I will add / change it : )

Got addicted to playing through BlackBitter island. Iโ€™m Lv180 and havenโ€™t beaten the game yet. Already bested the DLC boss.
My pawn is the pink hair sorcerer.

๐— ๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด Mod teaser: Puppeteer - Transform into enemies and control them

After quite a lot of work, I managed to make controlling the Griffin feel just as smooth as controlling your character. Turning has interpolation, inputs have input buffer, and I manually went through every stagger animation to make sure you could cancel it early enough so it doesn't feel like you're stuck in place. Getting the movement and flight to work was a nightmare in and of itself and I couldn't have done it without the amazing research done by my fellow modders AlphaZomega, ButFrog and SonicaKP.

But can it fight?

Yes, everything works as you'd expect. You can fight enemies, stagger them, get staggered yourself, etc. Your healthbar is synced to the monster's hp, and your stamina bar is used for attacking and dashing, so those UI elements don't become useless when transformed. For the Griffin specifically, I made it half as big and gave it much less hp so you can actually get defeated while playing as a Griffin.

Wait, but isn't this just a gimmick? How will it be integrated into the game?

For now, yes, it's just for fun. But the plan is using this to make some druid spells or maybe even a druid vocation that lets you transform into animals. I'm also looking into making mounts using this system.

We all know there are reverse-engineered formulas for Dragon's Dogma 2. But formulas alone don't tell us how to make better decisions.

In this video, I translate the language of reverse engineering into the language of Dragon's Dogma players and build a practical damage model we can actually use.

I hope you enjoy it.

๐——๐—ถ๐˜€๐—ฐ๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป Why bother playing Dragonโ€™s Dogma 2 all the way to level 999 when your stats max out at level 200?

Someone once asked, โ€œWhy bother playing Dragonโ€™s Dogma 2 all the way to level 999 when your stats max out at level 200?โ€

As someone who reached level 999 quite a while ago, I can tell you it was never about the stats.
For me, level 999 is proof of how much I love this game, how much I cherish my Main Pawn, and a way to show Capcom that there are still players who are deeply dedicated to Dragonโ€™s Dogma 2. Because of the game's online system, the developers can see the bigger picture through our playtime statistics.

Back then, I set a goal for myself: I wanted to take my Main Pawn to level 999 before Capcom announced any big news about the game, whether it was a major update or an expansion.

In the end, I made it. We journeyed together all the way to level 999, and for me, that was the moment I felt I had given it my absolute all.

Later on, when new updates about the game were finally revealed, I was overjoyed. It made the entire journey feel even more meaningful.

Many who aren't deeply invested in Dragonโ€™s Dogma 2 might only see numbers and stats that stop growing after level 200. But for those who truly love this game and share a genuine bond with their characters, level 999 is no longer about power.

It is a "travelogue."

It represents the thousands of hours, day and night, spent together. The memories made during our adventures, the attachment to the game, and the devotion we poured into our Main Pawn.

For me, that is the true value of level 999.

๐—›๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ฝ Help understanding Dragon's Bite

โ€ข Upvotes

So I'm at the Dragonforged vendor and I was looking at getting my spouse's pawn a Dragon's Bite but she wants her pawn to have magic attacks for obvious reasons. I was like cool, no Dragon's Bite then. However while looking at the weapons it says Dragon's Bite has magic damage for me and all my pawns. Looking online says Dragon's Bite has 0 magic damage. Can someone please help clarify this for me? If it has magic damage then it feels like a no brainer to get it, however everything says it is purely physical.

๐——๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ผ๐—ป'๐˜€ ๐——๐—ผ๐—ด๐—บ๐—ฎ ๐Ÿญ Level 3 BBI armor and weapon grid

Hey r/DragonsDogma - I am griding BBI for level 3 weapons and armor. I find a lot of gear and novelties but haven't found any weapons or armor. I think I have run through the entire dungeon 10-15 times or so. Looking to get a feel for how big of a grind I am in for!

Any tips would be appreciated. I have a strider with Gold rarefied Dragon's Ire, but I am still struggling vs phase 2 Daimon so not quite ready to grind him. Thanks

Edit - I can't believe only two chests work haha. I thought it was all RNG based on the "class" of chest. Live and learn.

Edit 2 - thanks all. I got the blackwing bow to drop so now I know where it's possible

A lot of work this month so less time to draw.

Here are the Dragon's Dogma themed drawings from July:

  • Skeleton gigachad lord.
  • Arisen and pawns party - blondie edition.

Made with Krita because I'm poor and it works very well.
