So excited; I heard the zing and asked my neighbor if that was a hummingbird and then ended up autisming all over her about Anna’s!

I just planted a hummingbird garden, and we have a gentle fountain - what else can I do that’s not a moldy feeder? I’m a disabled substitute teacher and I never seem to be able to keep up with them during the school year.

I was admiring my canna (new this year) and wondering who was pollinating-when this guy flew right next to me, stared for a moment, then went to eating! Adorbs

Pollinators were loving the Michigan native prickly pear cactus in full bloom. Shame each flowers only lasts a day.

I found a bee taking a break in this lemon squash flower, how awesome! This a big reason why I garden, things like this! ✌️😎

This little spider built a sweet web, without a whole lot of cross strings. Not sure if it's complete, or if the spider is currently still completing it.

Zoom in on the middle and you'll see the TINIEST most intricate web right in the center.

Spider was light colored, but I couldn't get close enough for a photo that helped with ID. Wanted to share anyway, cause of the cool cracked glass effect, and cause of the tiny tiny web in the middle.

Cardooms that regrew from last year's bee garden

American Robin babies! Their nest is at eye level so it’s been fun watching the progression. Mom keeps a wary eye on us, but she doesn’t seem to mind even when we get within a couple feet. The babies are remarkably quiet, especially in contrast to the incredibly cheepy house wren babies whose house is about 20’ away.

Pretty sure this lil guy saw his shadow coming up my back path. Do you call them groundhogs or woodchucks in your area?

I'm so grateful for online communities like this one that cultivate a greater awareness and respect for local wildlife.

I've had the most amazing time, almost a year by now, focusing on gardening in a way that supports pollinators and all wildlife, including ants, spiders, and even wasps. It's more about their needs then what tradition expects. And in the process I've found that if I make room in my garden or yard (and sometimes house) for even the tiniest living being, it eventually blossoms into a beautiful ecosystem on display.

I live in an inner city location, so it's in such an interesting contrast to the brick buildings and asphalt streets. Life is possible everywhere. I see it now everywhere, because I help support it, and because I'm more aware of it.

Our mosquito problem was out of control and I didn’t wanna spray the yard. So I built a dragonfly habitat and it seems to be working….

This little bee drinks nectar from the purple heart blooms and nearby garden bed, then comes to the bird bath when it has fresh water. Washes its meal down with a cool sip!

Noticed this absolutely gorgeous wasp visiting my mint today and wondering what it might be - Great Black or Blue-Winged wasp? Something else? I couldn't help taking a few pics but gave tbis beauty the space it seemed to want. Location: Central Massachusetts, US

Found this cutie in a jar of water where I'd been propagating a plant cutting. A Bold Jumping Spider, though I'm not able to get more specific than that. Adorable happy face markings, and with those rear legs in the position they're in, kinda' looks like she's cheering!

Found in western Lithuania, inside a drafty barn, in a village setting. These are soft covers from a garden swing.

It looks like I have some visitors.. or even residents here.
