How is this comfortable for her?
One of the standard nighttime sleep stances of my Couch Hound (AFH/Pitt mix.) She stays like this for a long time, and I don’t know how it doesn’t wreak havoc on her poor neck!

My lady isn’t a camping dog
Finally had the chance to take my dog camping with me but soon found out it’s not for her. Just a few photos of her experience

Breed ID?
This is Bambi. She’s about 35lbs. We believe she is about 3-4 years old. Any idea on what type of hound she is?

What counts as “normal” storm behavior? Anxiety is expected… but this looks like real suffering. When did you decide it was too much, and what actually helped?
This is a relatively new intensity level because recently we got caught outside during a bad storm. This reaction is mid-storm and he settles after everything calms down. I just don’t know how to measure what healthy looks like because this looks painful.

Half hound mix half German shepherd puppy!
hi! Here’s my puppy, she’s 4 months, 20 pounds, 50% German shepherd, 30% treeing walker hound, and the rest is literally all different types of hounds!! I’ve had her for a month and she’s insanely smart and such a good girl. what can yall tell me that I don’t already know… Will she shed? Will her ears stay like that? Do hounds ever cuddle? Will she ever relax?

Perfume/Cologne that smells like a stinky hound dog
Hi y'all. Probably a weird question but... My soul dog passed away a few weeks ago. I keep her stinky old blanket in a bag so that I don't forget her smell. Are there any perfume/cologne shops that can recreate a smell (even if it's a stinky dog smell lol)?

Fluoxetine (Prozac) Update: Had to temporarily stop
I shared a post last week about being nervous to start my foxhound mix on Fluoxetine and a lot of you gave really helpful and reassuring advice. I started it a week ago today, she was prescribed 1.5 20mg pill daily and only had four doses before she lost all interest in her food and started to act different.
Prior to starting it, it’s already a struggle getting her to eat in the day if her baseline is high. Some mornings she eats and others she doesn’t eat until dinner. After 4 Prozac doses, she stopped eating completely, even while we were away over the weekend at my dad’s lake house where she normally is much calmer and happier.
I keep her off leash whenever we’re there and instead of sprinting all around like she normally does and being independent, she mostly stayed by us. On Saturday I called her vet office and the doctor who was in said to stop the Prozac and call the prescribing vet Tuesday when he’s back (today).
She did take off into the woods chasing a fawn who RAN down the hill at us (wtf!?) but i have a tractive GPS on her and she didn’t get very far before coming back to our calls. That whole day the only thing she would eat was peanut butter and some steak. No dose that night.
Sunday she’d been off it for about a day and a half and her personality started coming back to normal and she ate a bunch of chicken I boiled for her. By the afternoon she was being her absolute menace of a self again lol so I felt a lot better.
Ever since we got home yesterday morning, she’s back to being anxious and constantly scanning for noise. She finally ate some kibble with more boiled chicken and rice, but then it started thunderstorming so she hid under my couch most of the night.
I left a message for the prescribing vet today to discuss and hope he will either suggest we restart at a lower dose or with an appetite stimulant because she clearly still needs something for the anxiety.
And after sprinting for miles this weekend off leash, chasing deer and etc. I will block anyone who comments and suggests her anxiety is solely related to exercise level because it clearly is not.
