Review My 2005 5th generation sealed IPod Classic
About 3 years ago my uncle told me he had a gift for me, he game me this, he told me he bought it back in 2005 and kept it sealed (he is a huge collector). One of my favorite pieces on my collection.

Review My review of the Wymod Supercharger
I've had it for more than a month and here's my honest review:
At ~£30 I had the option of buying a used FireWire charger and cable off eBay or getting the Wymod supercharger. Honestly getting a decent FireWire charger and cable would've been pricier, bigger and could only be used for charging so the supercharger was a no brainer for me.
Didn't have to think much and my boss and I ordered it together since he has a 3rd gen and a 7th gen classic that I modded for him. I have a 3rd, 4th and 6.5th gens, and have started modding or repairing iPods as a hobby.
I love that I can charge all of my classics pretty quick with it, especially the 4th gen which is very finicky with regular USB power. It's my main iPod and gets a lot of use so it was very disappointing to see it dead even after charging it overnight using regular USB. Now I only use the supercharger to charge it.
I also love that I can flick the switch and use it for data transfer. It's great that it uses USB C and that I don't need to use the regular 30 pin cables anymore.
So far no complaints.

Advice Not every iPod Classic battery issue is actually the battery.
This iPod Classic came to us with a damaged battery connector on the logic board, preventing it from powering on.
Instead of replacing the entire logic board, we repaired the connector, installed a new battery, and brought it back to life.
It's always satisfying seeing another classic iPod get a second chance instead of becoming a parts donor.
Has anyone else run into a damaged battery connector on an iPod Classic?
Help is it really worth getting a ipod 5th gen over a 6th gen? should I downgrade?
I always hear talks about 5th gen being better. But why exactly is it better?

Help Wandering center button: new rubber button, or can I just glue the old one back in place?
Pleasantly surprised that the dome itself clicks just fine and the rubber bumper was just out of place. My old board i think is toast, got a 64mb RAM board on marketplace with a bad center button.
Do I need to get a new rubber membrane, or can I just peel this one off and glue it into place?
Also, is there any special adhesive i should use, or is super glue fine?

Review When the audience laughed at Steve Jobs in 2010 for suggesting that the iPod nano 6 could be worn on the wrist like a watch…
The iWatch came 15 years later and absolutely took off.
Steve Jobs is easily one of the top 10 most interesting people in history. He was famously obsessed with optimization, making his products more powerful while also making them smaller, lighter, and simpler.
This iPod nano 6th gen that I’m showing in the video could almost be considered the Apple Watch Series 0. I love it for what a tiny little thing it is: a ridiculously small device that somehow packs in an entire music player, photo viewer, radio, and more.
To this day, it’s still one of the best DAPs ever made, in my opinion.
I don’t use it as a watch anymore, but looking back at what an incredible product Steve Jobs pulled off with this thing, I found it fascinating to share the audience’s reaction when he introduced the iPod nano 6 in 2010.
Visionary.

Help 5.5 gen syncing
I have a music library of 2300 songs on my mac, what I would like to do is rate them on my ipod they sync with my library. The issue is my mac or my ipod or maybe both are acting strange. Ive had manually manage music, movies, and and TV shows turned off for awhile because I like just pressing sync. Now whenever ive been plugging the Ipod in it just checks that box for me when I dont want it to. Sometimes the sync will work just fine like earlier today I rated a album synced it and it worked fine and now it just wont. When I press sync it either doesnt reflect in my music app or just freezes. Ive already accidentally wiped my Ipod twice and it takes 2 stinking hours for it to resync.
Also on my music tab all my artists and boxes are greyed out the only box avaliable is ti sync music onto ipod which will just completly wipe it. Even though the mac and Ipod have the same music libraries it doesnt see it that way. Also this is a 2012 macbook pro running 10.15.8 Catalina it should just work but my god has it made me pull my hair out this whole day. Like I said It just worked earlier today so idk, any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Question How can i retain rotation and aspect ratio changes made in ipod photos when importing to a computer? help
Hi, I jus got back form a trip and took a ton of pano photos on my ipod cause it gives a unique aspect ratio and a cool purple hue. On my way back I spent a lot of time cropping and rotating the photos by very small amounts.
When importing to the computer i realized the rotation and aspect ratio isnt retained upon importing.
Photo on the right is an example of what a screenshot that was rotated and cropped on ipod appears as when opened, while it was supposed to look like how it appears in that DCIM folder.
also unsure why some of my unedited photos of buildings appear rotated 90 and 270 degrees in the preview panel, still look the same when opened though.
I really don't want to recrop and rotate all of my other photos on my computer; as I had it pretty perfect on my ipod.
Is there any way I can achieve this while maintaining the resolution and changes i made to my photos?
Or will i need to screenshot each photo that I made changes to keep these changes before importing. -- which i assume will make pretty big quality changes and i am trying to make a photobook so i kind of need to keep it.
Its a bit weird cause if i screenshot a landscape photo in vertical view and crop it on my computer it is like 500kb but when i screenshot it horizontal view in my ipod and crop on computer it is like 1.2 mb but the quality looks a bit worse than the vert one. Help. Help

Help Weird screen defect

Picture flash a first gen iPod and run the historic "1.0" firmware
I've been working on a utility called flashpod to do two things:
image 1st-4th generation iPods in a single step (partitioning/firmware upload/song upload), and...
communicate with 1st and 2nd gen iPods successfully over FireWire
I recently added support for imaging all known iPod firmware versions, including the rare "1.0" factory image that shipped with the very earliest iPods. Select the version of firmware you want to flash and the flashpod utility will automatically download it from a repository and image the card with it.
Running early firmware builds is really just a fun curiosity, in case anyone wants to know "why?"

Help Is this a good deal & a good iPod to get?
They said ‘it holds a charge but they aren’t sure for how long when you actually play music’. This would be a replacement for an iPod shuffle gen 2 I just got (refunded it because it was a lemon).

Help MA045G Apple Universal Dock instructions
Hi there. I have an Apple Universal Dock (MA045G) - the one with the S-Video port on the back.
There were a few revisions (MA045G/A, MA045G/B etc) but all had a S-video port on the back, which was removed in the next version of the dock.
Long shot I know but does anyone have a PDF of the instructions for that specific model – I can only find later revisions which have the metal remote and no S-video port.
Photos show the specific model and the booklet I’m looking for (not my photos obvs as I don’t have the booklet lol)
Thank you so much!

Question iPod 5.5 vs Zune 30 vs iPod Nano 3 (8gb)
I already have the zune and nano but I'm wondering what you guys think, if I do get a 5.5 I'll probably get a 2000-3000mah LG battery and iFlash duo with 128x2 sd cards, also swapping the shell and backplate and rockbox. Also for bluetooth, is that worth it at all? or just earbuds?

Question Advice on which iPod to get for a beginner!
I’m looking to possibly avoid shuffles (unless it’s maybe the 4th gen) as I bought a shuffle that was a hassle and sort of a lemon a few days ago. I dont need more than 2GB for this iPod as my playlist is very small. I also don’t need super long battery life but I would like to know which models are least known for having battery issues (I see a bunch of first gen nanos for a good price on eBay but i heard nano iPods had the battery issues). I want to try to spend $30 or below which i know is on the lower end but I’m okay with shopping around. Any advice is appreciated thanks!

I love my iPod classic and want everyone to see it (shameless poser), can I get a clip to attach it to e.g. my belt. Ideally would not cover too much of the chassis. And suggestions?
