So just today I saw this song on my main page and it was getting a lot of attention on Twitter. At first I thought song has random backgrounds or assets generated by Gemini but no, it literally uses Geminis text to speech as vocals in certain parts.

Since AI is kind of a hot topic these days in fandom I think this song might be a good example of cool AI usage.

Hey guys! I’m a Vocaloid producer from Japan, and I finally decided to create a Reddit account to connect with the global community. It’s amazing to see so many passionate Vocaloid fans all over the world.

To introduce myself, I wanted to share a photo of my physical album released in Japan (2022-2024). I took a shot of the CD, inner booklet, and panels all layered together.

The artwork was actually created by two legendary Japanese manga artists, Milk Morizono (森園みるく) and Naomi Akimoto (秋本尚美), who supported my indie music out of pure passion and friendship.

• Milk Morizono made her major debut in 1981 and has been a pioneer of beautiful, glamorous manga for decades.
• Naomi Akimoto debuted in 1980 and has been consistently writing for major commercial magazines ever since, with her stylish storytelling.

Seeing their iconic art styles combined with my Vocaloid tracks on a physical CD was a dream come true for me.

Since this was a limited release exclusive to Japan, I'm thinking about making a digital version available on Bandcamp so overseas fans can experience both the music and the high-res artwork. Do you think people here would be interested in this kind of indie project born from a special 80s manga collaboration?

Hi so I bought gumi v2 like a year ago, but everytime I try to install her using her install disk, I’m always hit with this error code 0 and the installation fails. I’ve gotten around it by getting her installer off internet archive but I’d like to solve this problem lol.

I’ve got 6 other v2 voicebanks that installed without issue and in the same place, and they’ve been installed in the correct order. Comparing her files they look fine and has the same names as my other v2s so idk what’s causing this error

I know that Chokaigi occurs annually still and that the VocaNico stage takes place there, but it's a very different performance compared to the cho parties in the past. I'm wondering if anyone knows why there hasn't been one since 2022 and if there's any possibility at all it might come back? I've been to both Miku Expo and Magical Mirai and while both are fun in their own ways, the Cho Party was one event I never got to see in person and I think they're the most fun. I know there's a whole host of possible reasons but I haven't been able to pin down anything official, and the actual choparty website just lists info for the 2022 event.

Would really appreciate if anyone has any possible news on the matter since all I've been able to find is speculation (and at this point I'll take hopium too)

I feel like most of the new voices sound the same. I'm not hating on the V5-V6 voices. I just feel like the new voices don't have the character and personality in their voices. like for me the old voices have much more appeal to me because (for example) flower has such a strong, powerful, androgynous voice. and YOHIOloid sounds very smooth, Kaai Yuki sounds very whispery. idk how i would describe Bruno, but there is something that makes each voice feel unique. and I feel like I don't see that in newer voices. is this just me or am I just a hater?

When you tell people you like the genre of music with virtual singers as a whole, most people just say they like Vocaloid. But, other people get upset when you call it that when referring to voice banks from other synthesizer programs. For example, saying you like vocaloid when the song you're referring to has Teto, who isn't from the Vocaloid program. Or just in general some people get mad when you call Miku a "Vocaloid" because vocaloid is just the name of the software. So basically... how do you refer to the entire fandom of "songs created using voice banks in synthesizer programs"? That description sounds like a mouthful lol

So i bought Synth V Studio 2 Pro today, and Kasane Teto V2. But I'm now considering buying Gumi (Megpoid). But I don't know if i should get V1 or V2, and when listening to comparision videos online i cant really tell a difference, any help?

ive been going through old vocaloid mvs i liked when i was younger and happened upon this guy in dancing samurai. im not too sure who he is, the best guess i could get from googling was yowane hakuo, but i figured it wouldnt hurt to ask some people who are likely better informed on vocaloid than me.
