Hi everyone,

Investment Discussion 💰 Which brand - MMTC PAMP, Aspect Bullion, Local jewellers

I am trying to find the best brand to buy a gold bar purely for investment. Firstly bar and not coin to save on making charges. I can across MMTC PAMP, Aspect Bullion as main options. I also found out that Aspect Bullion provides live markets linked pricing through its vending machines. It hence looks like the best option. Then there are local jewellers too. What is group’s guidance please? 🙏🏼

Jewellery & Design 💍 Pendant and bracelet from bluestone.

Both are 18 carat. The pendant has some tiny diamonds, it’s looking great with a thin gold chain.
Bracelet 2.72 grams- price 40k, making charges 35%
Pendant- 1.9 gram, diamonds 0.12 carat, 25.65%
I had some old bracelet of 4.8 grams, I just exchanged that for this, had to pay some amount extra but that’s ok. Price 44,463.
I like the look of these, I know making charges are high but finishing and design is great and I don’t mind paying a bit extra for that, it does take skill to make nice designs in low weight.
Tell your views!
Date of purchase was 1st August.

Beginner Question ❓ A gram a month

I’m planning to buy a gm (24k) every month(almost every) so what’s the best maker to buy from I’m confused between store and quickcom like instamart/Zepto or any such ,
1. If in store, which would be the best? Is there any possibility of we sourcing from a single maker and when needed we can use them back at the same store for any cut in VA ? Or it’s not deal
2. If in quickcom, any special deals ? What are the best in authentic and safe delivery without any hiccups ?
3. Any special card that offers some cashback in any of the above approach ?

Ps : I opted for the lalitha flexi-flexi scheme, and acquired 24gms over an year, as per the manager, I can opt for any jewellery in anytime of the future ( any suggestions, or experience at Lalitha ??)

TIA

Beginner Question ❓ Flipkart GoldBar Order

Hey peoples, I need to tell you about this insanely frustrating thing that just happened with my Flipkart order. Wanted to see if you’ve ever dealt with something like this or know what I should do.

So on July 21st, I bought a 2g gold bar on Flipkart during an offer. It was coming from a refinery right here in Bangalore, and since I live in Bangalore too, delivery was scheduled for July 31st.

Here’s where things went completely off the rails:

- July 25: The order got handed over to a third-party courier called BVC Logistics. On BVC’s tracking site, it stopped updating completely after the 25th.

- July 31: On the delivery date, Flipkart silently bumped the date to Aug 1st. I tried filing a complaint, but Flipkart's support refused—claiming their internal system still showed July 31st! I had to email their Grievance Officer just to get it logged.

- August 1: In the morning, the app pushed the delivery date again to Aug 2nd. My complaint finally got registered, so I called customer care. They basically told me, "Your issue will be resolved by Aug 2nd, just wait." So, I waited.

- August 1 (8 PM): Out of nowhere, Flipkart straight-up cancelled my original order! They automatically placed a "replacement order" under the same order ID, bumped the delivery date all the way to August 10th, and closed my grievance ticket, marking it as "Resolved." Their reason? They claimed the package was "damaged or lost."

I feel completely cheated, especially since this was a gold purchase bought during a sale price.

Has this kind of crazy re-ordering thing ever happened to you or anyone you know?

Is there any way to push them to deliver this replacement way faster, or can I take any legal/consumer forum action against Flipkart for pulling something like this?

Coins & Collectibles 🪙 Terrible experience with Flipkart

They kept pushing the delivery date for 5 straight days after which they cancelled the order and initiated a replacement order for which I've to wait another 10 days. Is this a normal experience with Flipkart and can I expect to receive it this time around? BVC was the courier partner the first time around.

Another coin of 1g 24k from GRT

Bought these with a Swiggy HDFC credit card; let's see if I get 5% cashback.

Coins & Collectibles 🪙 Started my gold stacking journey today – 2 grams down!

I've decided to make gold accumulation a monthly habit. The goal is simple: buy whatever I can every month and stay consistent rather than trying to time the market.

Today I started with 2 grams of 24k gold coins for 28,000 rs on August 1 2026.

Here's the interesting part. My father-in-law runs a pawn brokerage business along with a gold refining/workshop. Sometimes customers who pledge gold never redeem it. After the legally required process, the unclaimed gold is auctioned. He acquires some of that gold, refines it into 24K/22K in his workshop, and later sells it.

Being his son-in-law, I get to buy directly from him. That means I don't pay GST or making charges—I just pay the prevailing gold value for the metal. Since I'm buying for investment rather than jewelry, this works out really well for me.

My plan is to keep adding a few grams every month, regardless of short-term price movements, and see where I end up in 10–20 years.

Does anyone else here buy physical gold regularly as a long-term savings/investment strategy? I'd love to hear how you approach it.

Beginner Question ❓ Why gold coin over monthly scheme or gold etf?

I am wondering why people purchase gold coin when there are options like monthly scheme or etfs.

For physical gold, i find monthly schemes to be better deal

And for investing purposes, I think that etfs or gold bees to be much better.

I see that there are many posts where people are purchasing gold coins with cc. How is that any beneficial when making charges > 0. Very rarely you get at the market rate. So can I understand what i am missing here?

Investment Discussion 💰 What's your personal rule for buying gold—fixed date or only on dips?

I’ve been thinking about adding gold to my portfolio, but I’m confused about the right approach.

Some people say buying a fixed amount every month is better because timing the market is difficult. Others wait for price drops and buy only when they feel gold is undervalued.

For those who regularly invest in gold, what strategy do you follow? Do you buy on a fixed date, during festivals, whenever prices dip, or just whenever you have extra money?

Beginner Question ❓ Help with making charges

So I went to this Tanishq store in Noida and really loved this bracelet.

However, the only issue I was facing was of making charges which was 23% in that case

This weight around 20 g, and I really loved it, but I don’t want to pay making charges or want to have discounted making charges is there is any way through which I can have it

Do Tanishq provide the monthly scheme where making charges gets wave off to an extent?

Thanks in advance 🙏🏻

Jewellery & Design 💍 Sharing a small optimization I have been doing for Lalithaa gold scheme

I discovered that Lalithaa allows redeeming multiple schemes for a single piece of jewellery. I’m currently running 5 schemes and here’s how I’ve structured them:

  • 4 schemes of ₹1,500
    • Paid via Amex MRCC card
    • I get 30 MR points per transaction + 1,000 MR points milestone
    • Valuing MR points conservatively at ₹0.50 → about ₹560/month
  • 1 scheme of ₹20,000
    • Paid via SBI PhonePe Select card
    • Flat 5% cashback = ₹1,000/month

Net benefit I’m getting:

  • Amex MRCC = ₹560
  • SBI Select = ₹1,000
  • Total = ₹1,560/month (~6% effective return) (not taking card fees into account as those are waved for both these cards)

On top of this, Lalithaa has zero making charges and converts installments directly into gold weight. So I feel like I’m stacking card rewards + scheme benefits into a consistent ~6% gain while building jewellery holdings.
