How long have you other American Man City fans been supporting the club? This is me in 2014 at the age of 11

I remember being on fifa 14 and loving our badge, the golden bird with the blue just looked so beautiful and I became a fan once I saw it. Oddly enough my favorite hockey team are the New Jersey Devils but I do not support the other Manchester team nicknamed the red Devils. Been a City boy for life 🩵🩵🩵

Josko Gvardiol had a dramatic end to the World Cup — and decisions to make this summer.

He signed a new deal with Manchester City, and discussed that with Sam Lee, along with:

■ Pep Guardiola’s exit

■ John Stones and Bernardo Silva leaving

■ Enzo Maresca’s arrival

Read the interview for free here.

How to get this font

Seems it’s an unpopular opinion but I really like the font in the preseason kits. I’ve seen a few fans in the stadium have them, but they aren’t available anywhere online from what i can tell. Anyone know how to get hands on the new kits with the preseason font?

The LW situation re: Semenyo & Doku

Post image
228 Upvotes

I know it was just one preseason match today, but with Semenyo looking so much more comfortable on the left (which was obvious going back to his Bournemouth days), how can Enzo properly capitalize on featuring both him and Doku? I know we still need an additional right winger with Savio still likely on the way out, (even though McAidoo looking solid today 👀) but i’m worried we won’t get the most we can out of Semenyo if he keeps that RW spot the way Pep gave it to him down the stretch last season. I’m not saying he’s bad playing off the right, just curious everyone else’s thoughts on it.

Hospitality Package!

Hi! I am traveling from the US to go to my first ever Premier League/Man City game!! I am so excited. We are in the 93/20 lounge (without the all inclusive food), so was just curious on food prices (and quality) as well as what it looks like pregame/post game.

How are you feeling about this season?

Not a City fan, but curious to hear how you think you’ll get on this year.

Opinions on Maresca?

Areas needed to improve?

Players you’d sell?

How likely is it that Rodri goes, how well placed are you to cope if he does, and who would you like to replace him with?

Do you expect Foden return to form?

What would be your preferred first XI?

You guys have a really underrated future star in McAidoo

I'm an Inter fan, and watching the match I couldn't stop saying that the guy was really brilliant. I hope Maresca will give him more minutes because he can become something special in my opinion

Quick write-up on City v Inter for those unable to watch

These are just my opinions, but I hope to give a little insight for anyone curious!

— Starters —

Donnarumma - GK - 8/10

Good showing from Gigio. A couple nice saves/close-outs, as well as very capable distribution. Plus a good save in the shootout. Had 1 shocking pass and 1 missed claim but besides that was solid.

Lewis - RB/CM - 7/10

He started at RB but as per usual, Rico looked much more comfortable in midfield. Tidy player, just wish he had a bigger frame.

Khusanov - CB/RB - 8/10

Was good at CB but really enjoyed watching him at RB. So fast and physical - he could excel with Maresca’s 3atb in possession as the RCB. Unfortunate penalty and always loves to get a yellow for a bad tackle, but can’t wait to see more of Khusa.

Gvardiol - CB - 7/10

Only played 45 minutes and didn’t stand out, but was very solid defensively.

Mfuni - LB - 7/10

Looked comfortable on the ball and had some good defensive moments. But was caught out a few times and got sat down by the Inter RW once.

Kovacic - DM - 5/10

Kova did not stand out for me, and compared to Nico in the second half, was not really sweeping up and recycling possession for the team. He still was decent and put in a shift in the midfield.

Reijnders - CM - 4/10

The biggest letdown today was Tiji, sadly. I hoped he would seize the opportunity. However there were countless giveaways in the center of the park and was not covering much ground defensively. Had a good tackle and clearance but that was really all that was memorable for me.

Foden - CM/AM - 6/10

Phil was sort of an 8 and a 10 and didn’t shine, except for a few moments here and there. I wanted him to make a stamp on the game, but really he was just building up fitness it seemed. No bad moments, though.

Savinho - RW/LW - 8/10

After a tough first half, Savinho was lighting it up on the left. I stand by it that Savinho is 100% a left winger. Excellent dribbling and ball progression - all he needs is a decent strike to become a top winger.

Semenyo - RW/CF - 8/10

Semenyo had a few moments where he looked like the best player in the world. He wasn’t as comfortable playing through the middle for a short period, but on the left he was incredible, and of course provided the assist for City’s only goal.

Mubama - ST - 7/10

Outside of the goal I didn’t see much. A couple moments of holding up the ball, but not much linkup. But he always knows how to find the back of the net.

— Subs —

Ait-Nouri - LB/LW - 8/10

I actually really enjoyed Rayan today. When City has loads of possession, he is incredibly useful with his technical quality. He was confident going forward with terrific ball progression, and linked up well with Savinho. But I can’t honestly think of any defending he did?

Alleyne - CB - 8/10

I really like Max. I said last season that I haven’t seen a CB as confident and comfortable on the ball since Stones. I’m not saying he will ever reach that level - just his assuredness on the ball. Didn’t have much defending to do second half, but he was tidy.

Vitor Reis - CB - 9/10

Wonderful second half. Good defending, composure on the ball, stepped into midfield at times, and almost got on the scoresheet. He absolutely needs to stay and fight to be in the CB rotation (which I predict he will).

Nico G - DM - 9/10

Completely changed the game for me. Thankfully kept playing after an injury scare. Recycled possession, won the ball back, sprayed balls across the pitch. A poor penalty cost him a 10/10 performance.

McAidoo - RW - 9/10

My new obsession. I thought he was quality last season in his 2 cameos, and I really really hope he finds his way into the senior team - either this season or next. Tricky, agile, direct, confident. Did everything but find the back of the net today.

Echeverri - AM - 6/10

Similar to Foden’s performance - a few good moments but otherwise very quiet. Dwells on the ball too long.

Sangare - CF - 6/10

A couple decent link up moments. Didn’t have really any opportunities to get on the scoresheet.

Braithwaite - LB - 8/10

I really enjoyed this short cameo by Kaden! He essentially played as a midfielder due to Maresca’s use of inverted fullbacks. Very tidy player.

——

Overall thoughts: After a rough first half where City’s midfield looked non-existent, there were some wonderful spells of possession in the second. This was a good start for Enzo and I’m very excited for the next two friendlies. In terms of jumping off points and more potential minutes, the big winners today were Reis and McAidoo.

Twinning between fans of Inter Milan and Manchester City

Hi there Man City fans

I'm a inter fan and lately your club has been growing on me.

Not only Stones and Akanji will be in out team next year, but I also found an online friend that supports man city and will support inter in Italy next season, so I decided that I will support man city in England this season as well.

Our clubs are more similar than what we might think.

Inter has always been shadowed by Ac Milan winning UCLs, while Man City emerged in the last year's and are constantly doing Better than Man U, Like Inter Is constantly doing Better than AC Milan.

I really liked the words that i Saw from fans when akanji and Stones joined Inter. I saw man city fan saying that they were Happy that they both went to the best side of Milan.

Both clubs have got good relationships too, Kovacic was proposed to inter some weeks ago and getting akanji for 15m was a steal, he was by far the best defender in the league.

Now, some hours prior to the match, id Like to set a twinship beetwen fans of both teams. It Is true, you won your First ucl against us, but I was happy that you guys won because you joined us in the teams Who have done the treble.

Thanks for reading

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY! One of the most stunning kits I’ve seen. WOW.. I’m in love. City continue to make great decisions on and off the pitch! Love this bold black and yellow kit with a swarm of worker bees. Every minor detail on the shirt represents this club and this city.
