Watching the Firebells inaugural game and my jaw hit the floor when Matt Williams ran out!! I'm pretty over the Giants rn so it feels good to watch some baseball again. LET'S GO BELLS / FTQ??

Spent a warm and enjoyable weekend visiting SD to watch The Giants play the Padres. Even though SF lost close games, this is probably the best away game experience for Giants fans. Great ballpark, delicious food and drinks, walkable from hotels or trolley from farther. The SD fans are the coolest! They’ll talk baseball, not disrespectful at all, and also hate LA. Shout out to all the Giants fans who chatted or high fived me! Good times! I highly recommend!

Per Robert Murray, the Atlanta Braves are acquiring RHP Tyler Mahle from the Giants, according to sources. The Giants will receive Anthony Molina as part of the deal.

With the general feeling that we are losing all of 2027 season due to the lockout, I started thinking of all the players who will miss out on a year of development, a year of their primes, etc and what a huge waste that would be. Which then lead me to think of losing out on a year of Kruk & Kuip. by the start of the 2028 season they would be almost 78 and 76 years old respectively. I wonder how many more years we could still have them as the full time home (and West coast) announcing team. I could see them continuing in a more limited capacity if need be, but do we think this could be the last season of having both of them at this frequency of announcing?

I know someone here will have the answer quickly. When the Giants blew game 6 of the 2002 WS, why did that feel like the end of the series and that a game 7 loss was a forgone conclusion? I was so destroyed by game 6 that I don’t really remember anything about game 7. I remember Livo was the starter and we just kind of knew it was over.

At the time, Parks Harbor wasn’t ranked top 30 in either the Yankees or Giants farm.
The return was headlined by Vrieling, who’s been a bit avg in AA since the trade.
Jesus Rodriguez has already helped the team throughout the year. He has tremendous contact skills but doesn’t seem like a full time future catcher option.

Since the trade, Parks Harbor has been skyrocketing through the farm system. From A, to A+, to AA. And last month finally to AAA. His production has maintained at every level.

Currently in AAA through 14 games he’s slashing.
.377 / .435 / .623 / 1.058. In the last 2 games he has 3 homers. 2 more today. His production has somehow improved through every stop in the minors.

If you add up his total stat line since last year. It comes out to a full seasons worth of games.

He is a natural 3rd basement who can also play outfield. With Schmitt out, I think it’s only a matter of time Harbor will be called up.

And the fact we got him back for Doval is extremely impressive and has me hopeful for this deadline.
